For the sake of keeping his identity hidden, the demon doesn't say any different. Let them believe he was an idiot, he would achieve his goals in the end.

Clik's mother sending her down the trapdoor tunnel as a shapeshifting deamon wearing the royal crest fished slaughtering her father....it leapt at her mother who threw a flame at it.the trapdoor closed....After a while the young clik opened the trapdoor to find both her parents dead

(The King and Queen aren't shapeshifters. Don't be disappointed, but...It's canon [Note this RP is based of-of a novel I'm writing :/] that they are regular demons. As shapeshifters are considered 'impurities' and will be cast out of the royal line if any are found.)
