The Nytekrie tips it's head to the side, and seems to consider your offer. It then looks at you expectantly.

Latif dips her head again in acceptance, and then carefully stood using her other hand for balance. She walked across the length of the cavern until she stood a mere feet away from the Nytekrie. She held out the mouse with an outstretched arm, keeping her head carefully turned away and slightly down. It was both a show of submission and that she didn't exactly wish to view it eat the mouse.

Maeve steps backwards, and raises her hands submissively. "I'm not here to hurt you." she says in a low voice.

It inches forwards, leans towards you, and snatches the mouse from your hand, downing it in one gulp. After a moment, you feel feathers hesitantly rubbing against your hand.

In a sudden gust of wind, the creature turns into a black cloud and rushes towards you!

You dodge successfully! The wind blows away into the jungle. Where it has touched, you can see that leaves have withered.

Latif just barely managed not to jerk in response to the mouse getting snatched. She looked towards the Nytekrie a little, enough to see it while gently petting the feathers beneath her hand.

The rumbling grows to a roar and the wall crumbles to dust. You think you hear some disembodied voices, but you can't make out what they're saying.
Where the wall stood is just... A veil of darkness.
