A few desks blew over, the surface of Ezra's froze, and your desk had a large scorch mark. You could almost see into it.

Teacher Denstar: Magic for beginners is all about mastering your element and conduit. The state of your conduit affects your magical performance, remember that. elements also affect your control. Air is generally a large amount of magic, and the best way to use it is focusing it, learning to control it. Same goes for fire.

Something stole onto this boat, and I'm pretty sure it would be a good test for you to try and capture it before facing real obstacles, since you have no magical school education

What do you do now?

Teacher Denstar: Over the years, I've found that the best way to teach pupils is to jump right into performing magic.
He sets down a covered cage on every desk. Noises come from them, and something moves inside.
Teacher Denstar: First is trying the simple shielding spell. Careful, because the creatures inside will try to attack you if you let them out.
