The sound of the scroll intrigued the young man and he walked swiftly over to Alex and very impolitely took it from him. "You can't hear this?" He inquired. He looked at Tetra, then Martin, then Peggi.

Confusion grasped the poor hero once again as the masters all spoke of the talking scroll. He tried to stop Atticus from snatching it away, but it was too late. Martin gave a shrug. "I heard nothing."

A huff escaped him as the two squabbled lightly. "Well," Atticus said as he held up the scroll he'd taken from Alex, getting ready to open it. "Perhaps we better find out what this says, hmm?" He unraveled it.

He leaned closer, intrigued, eyes focusing on the scroll as his master rolled it open. He glanced at the others, wondering if they were just as intrigued.

The scroll looked blank to the masters, but the slaves could read it perfectly well. It said "speak not of this to any master, for then you may avoid disaster. Guid them to the sea so deep. Then you must take a faithful leap. Trust not the dark but treasure the light. Heed this, work together, do not fight. There lay a map for you in wait. Only can you see it if without hate," tetra decided to pretend she cpuldnt read it since the scroll said not to tell the masters about the words. "Why is it blank?" She asked. That was probably the first intended lie she told. "Can anyone see anything?"

"Hih whats blank?" Peggi had decided to pretend to be naive. Not that itd fool Alex, but if she did, she knew he wasnt gonna ask questions. She pretended haveneen busying examining a nearby insect
