Kiera stared blankly. Sweets sniffled and towed Kiera across the ground, Kiera could be heard cursing and grumbling things like, "Ouch! Watch it Sweets! AuGHHH!"

Gradient slung the guitar across his back, recalling his two Pokemon. He had had enough of them for the time being. He speed-walked towards the rest of his group, his long strides making up for his lost time. His ankle burned, but Gradient simply ignored the pain.

Gradient's bag was squished beneath his blue and black guitar, pretty much empty. It was so nice, feeling his guitar thumping against his back, like the way old friends fist bumped. Gradient started humming one of his favorite tunes, perfectly content.

"It would be nice to get the first trial out of the way, but keep in mind we all only have two Pokemon, all under Level 10. We need something better. I'm aiming for one more Pokemon, my whole team Level 15." Gradient noted. "The gyms in the other regions may be harder to some, but that doesn't mean these trials are just flat out easy." Gradient said.

(Fang, Gradient has strawberry blond hair, violet eyes, and usually black/white clothes in any style. :3)

Yuri ad Thomas Looked at each other at the mention of levels but decided to keep quiet unless asked. Yuri hugged Vul a bit tighter it wasn't a conversation she really wanted to have again, but if it came to it she would have no choice. She was honestly surprised, Icy wind was a level 15 move, and no one had seemed to really notice yet not even this Gradient kid, who seemed to have all his t's crossed and i's Dotted.
Thomas could Feel the tension from Yuri and rubbed the back of his head, she had been careless letting Vul use Icy wind so much, even he had kept Ren from using Her Fire Spin. He sighed knowing the topic would come up soon, but he didn't really want to get worked up about it again till he needed to. " Your right Kid the trials aren't easy, they are pretty intense, every bit of a gym battle if not more.." he said looking at the road head thinking.

Gradient saw the two exchange looks warily. Yuri's grip on her Alolan Vulpix tightened slightly. Icy Wind. A Level 15 move, quite useful early on. "Icy Wind, huh? Level 15 move. Is your Alolan Vulpix bred? After all, parents do pass on moves to their Pokemon children." Gradient tossed Eevee's Pokeball up and down.

"After all, my Eevee is specially bred. Five perfect IVs. A preferable Eevee ability, and the move Wish." Gradient looked over his shoulder, back at Yuri and Thomas, never breaking his stride. He grinned wide. "Should we train some more? Try for some more Pokemon? Or just walk in there ready to lose?" Gradient asked. His cocky side was showing. Why was acting, now of all times suddenly hard? Ugh.

Yuri didn't make eye contact with him. " No... he was wild...and I trained him myself" she said looking up finally her eyes filled with a mix of emotions. The only person she knew who could be that cocky was Thomas, but even this kid hadn't gotten to that jerks level yet. " I assume you want a battle?" she said coking her head to the side. Thomas was fuming on the inside if only this kid knew, but he didn't let his temper get the best of him, he needed to save that for latter. Yuri's response surprised him a little, a battle, she had just reiterated that she didn't want to battle earlier... what was she up to? One thing was for sure, this time was going to be different, much different....

Gradient's violet eyes flashed. He could act perfect, and challenge... But no. In the end, it's better to be modest than a loser, that Gradient was well aware of. Warrior or Worrier? The ever going dillema, never to truly be answered.

"I don't think so. Both be and my Pokemon need a rest." Gradient pointed to his red 'whiskers' on his cheeks, marks left by both his Pokemon. "If your Vulpix knows Icy Wind, I may lose. Add that to the fact that I fell off a cliff, and my Pokemon are just plain drained, and the winner comes out nice and clear as you. Litten may have a type advantage against your Alolan Vulpix, but Litten has been using her Ember too much. The PP is drained up." Gradient noted. "And if we run into anymore trouble and both my Pokemon are fainted..." Gradient grimaced. The bigger picture Gradient. The bigger picture.

" Good Choice..." she said as she walked past him. "Uh...." Thomas was wide eyed, this was not like Yuri at all, this guy really must have ticked some nerve " Well, um we should keep going, don't want....." he paused deciding not to use a short nick name right now" well don't want Yuri to Get lost.." he said sticking his hands in his pockets and glancing down at Ren who had her ears flattened a bit, she must have felt the same tension he had. once he caught up to Yuri in front of the others he kept his voice at a whisper " Don't kill me, but I think we should tell them..." he said softly. Yuri nodded " I agree it will make maters easier if we run into the others, and if anyone wants to split they can" she said still obviously ticked.

Kiera gave a shout but her timid (yet cocky) meowth was already strolling out in front of gradient. The meowth looked him over with a passive, bored expression on its dark grey face. Kiera burst out of the bushed panting an bending down, hands on knees. Her face flushed when she realized her meowth doing the 'Wanna fight, buster?' look. She scrambled to her feet and dragged Sweets away from Gradient before it could embarrass her. "I'm so,so,so,so s-sorry. Sweets you quit that! You can't just go and challenge random people all over Alola! That's how you got attacked by an angry mob of Oricoles!" she held the meowth in her arms tenderly.
