It sort of works. You are in front of the inn. You race up the stairs, when you notice a maid. A first she seems normal, but you realize her movements are jerky, like a puppet on a string.
Nothing around you seems unsual, until you see a slightly raised part of the ground.
What do you do now?

They show you the carving, an image of a cat looking up at the stars, one paw raised as it was about to step across an expanse of water. the water reflected the stars and showed a faint image, but the stone is too worn to tell what it is.
What do you do now?
((Currently there are two versions of the cat: Ryori and Vulnyx. Which do you prefer?))

Feeling like this is not natural, I call for some mages while shoving her out of the way, making sure she isn't facing my room. Once inside, I lock the door and grab StarCatcher and the egg. I open the window. "Fly down with the egg. I'll jump down and lead you to the building. We need to be careful."

Hopefully the person we are rooming with is fine with a dragon..
"Here. You can sleep with me and the egg on the bed. I would rather know that you are with me during the night and not stolen by that puppet person." I arange tbe extra blanket (assuming they have one) as a nest for the egg and lay down looking up at the ceiling.
