Knuckles slammed into the same tree again, repeatedly. It was clear this was no accident. He was trying to bring it down on her.

Knuckles reaction to the tazer was about the same, only the episode of being disabled lasted a lot shorter. "There's more than one way...!" Knuckles shouted, hopping onto a a low branch and jumping onto one higher up.

Knuckles was on her tail (not literally, mind you) in hot pursuit. The Emerald orbited around him, providing a boost of speed and power.
