Daaang. I hate this lady by proxy. Wow.

I don't understand how people like that, who neither understand nor respect mental health issues, keep getting work 'helping' the people with them. That really needs to stop being a thing.

I have both physical and mental disabilities, and yeah people like her are part of why things are so hard for us. The disabled community don't want to be disabled, we just want to live our lives the best we can given our individual medical needs.

Sadly Social Services isn't the only profession that I have delt with this kind of crud from...I've delt with it from drs, and various random people. It's a sad fact that many people still treat the disabled as being lesser just because they are different. This tends to happen more in smaller towns where the majority of the population has issues with anything that's different from them.

I try my best, but it can't be helped I have limitations and special needs, but I still deserve to be treated better than a second class citizan. I hate that I have to even have a case at Social Services, but there is no option. I can't work, and I still have to do prep work for my SSI case...so yeah.

I had forgotten the physical health/disabilities aspect of the issue in my response because my brain immediately related her to someone I've had to deal with repeatedly both for myself and my friend in regards to mental health/disabilities specifically. Sorry about that, it went all personal in my head.

It really sucks how many people think being disabled is totally something that is desired or taken advantage of somehow. Their reasoning makes no sense and leads to them treating you and others poorly for completely idiotic reasons. It stinks and I want to punt kick a cactus at them. Same goes for people who think being different makes you somehow less of a person or less worthy of respect or...whatever is going through their heads. Pointy pointy cacti. Plenty to go around.

*hugs*

Basically, you totally deserve way better.

That's ok. I totally get where you are coming from. I've been dealing with cruddy people like that for a long time though only medically and social service for about 4-5 years. But my feelings are that if a person is in a humanities profession like a dr or a social service worker but you have problems with a group of people or you later develope issues with a group of people then for sake of all things good then please get the hell out of the profession and find a job away from people.

Yeah, my first dr thought that I wanted to be disabled! And she also thought that I was being coached in what I was saying...she treated me like trash... I reall want something bad to happen to her, cause she totally deserves karma to bite her for being aweful to me and other people. Additionalky I have had at least 5 bad social service workers, and the 2 good ones I only had for a few months each.

On the whole being mistreated for being different I've delt with that for most of my life, so I'm use to that...that doesn't mean it's ok to do mean things to me or other people that don't want to conform.

*hugs back* Thanks for the hugs.

I hope that things will improve once I get my SSI, and when we can finally move out of this cruddy apartment complex.

That's ok. I know many of my friends are busy, especially with school and/or work either getting ready to start back up.

It's great getting to actually see. My new glasses totally fit my needs perfectly. My fiance's mom bought them for me, and because I did my reserch on the transitions lenses(the kind that can be indoor reading glasses and sun glasses, along with a couple variations in between) she paid the extra to make sure I'd be able to see the very best possible.

It still will be between next October and December when my SDiT will be ready to come home(her mommy dog isnt due to breed again till early or mid fall of next year), however that gives me time to save up for her, and make sure I have everything she needs before she comes home.

Thanks, I'm really looking forward to having better use of my hand after the surgery. Though I'm expecting to have physical therapy because my hand/wrist is really week at this point, but that will get better after my hand/wrist have recovered and I have compleated the psycal theraoy.

Wow, are you like normal sight now? :o I had transition glasses, but the "glasses" part was useless to me and I then I nought the kind that doesn't really let light seep in. :p
And hey, you can have lots of excitement at least until your STiD comes. XD
Welp, that phys. therapy should really help. \(^)/

Yep, my new glasses give me 20/20 vision in both eyes, along with preventing glare, and being sun glasses. I got the Transitions ExtrActive lenses, they are perfect for what I do. I spend almost equal times inside as I do outside.

Yep, and getting donations for my next SDiT is helping out alot too. One of my friends ordered things from my wish list on amazon so that I wouldn't have to worry about everything on my list. I'll still need to buy the crate, and a few other things for my SDiT but that's ok they are the things that are easy to get in my town. The donations however where all things that in my area are harder to come by because they either arent carried in the stores or they sell out quickly.

Yep, I can't wait till I'll be able get back to drawing.

I don't drive yet, but I believe my fiance's mom is going to be arranging for me to take driving lessons after my wrist/hand is fulky recovered. So I think I'll have my drivers licence by this time next year.

That's ok. Good vibes/prayers, and support are just as helpful. :)
