"Thank you so much!" Aya smiled brightly. The two of you walked to the dining hall together. Everyone was seated at a long table except Milo, who was absent from the whole gathering.

"Now, what progress did we make towards an escape?" August asked the group.

"Me and Maya learned that all the windows are totally sealed shut super tightly" Renae sighed.

"And I couldn't get that door to open no matter what" Ace huffed, crossing his arms.

"Me, Eris, and Tucker were in the library all day but we didn't manage to come up with a single good clue as to what happened" Lucy whined, her head in her hands as she pouted.

"Is it even a big deal that we're trapped here" April mumbled, prompting everyone to look at her completely bewildered. "Like, as much as i'd like to leave- this place has everything I could need, the same goes for everyone! We have food, we have comfort, we have our own private rooms, yeah we can't go outside but still, we get to live in comfort here, is it really that bad?" April defended herself.

"'Ril, I can't believe this, what ever happened to our future?" Dahlia gasped hearing her words. "Maybe for you this is great, but my whole life has been training to be on stage for millions and that's gone now!" She exclaimed.

"Dahl, you know I don't mean it like-" April began to say before Dahlia stormed out of the room. "Dahlia I'm sorry, we can still-" April tried calling after her but she was gone.

"April, it's okay, we're all just stressed" Renae went to April's side.

"I'm sure she's not really mad at you" Olivero said as he joined April.

"Yeah, she just needs space, I'm sure she's just tired, you know how hard she always pushes herself" Barry told her.

"I-I-" April looked anxiously between the three around her and the door. "I'm going back to my room..." She sighed, sounding defeated as she left

Callen looked thoughtful. Which meant his brain was whirring at a hundred miles an hour again. "You know....Even if we're stuck here, it doesn't mean the end of the world. Yeah, we can still look for ways out. I for one am not thrilled I'm missing the Cresthearse Family Ski Trip we take every year with all the relatives. Plus the fact I miss my large family, private rooming is weird for me after sharing a room all my life. But while we're here, we have opportunities and if we use those opportunities we might find a way out we never thought of. Like while we're here, we have the chance to learn anything we ever wanted to learn. We build up that knowledge, horne some skills, and we'll find a way out that doesn't involve auditions for "how to get away with murder" movies. I'm also pretty sure the Headmaster is keeping a close eye on us right now since we're still desperate for a way out, once we "submit" he'll stop stalking us so much. Hopefully. I really don't want to have him appear in my room while I'm half dressed or something."

"I miss my family too, Cal" Barry offered his sympathies.

"Yeah, I miss everyone except my brother, he sucks" Renae chuckled, Olivero laughing with her

"Yeah, everything's gonna be fine!" Luka tried to be enthusiastic."There's no way we'll kill each other! We won't give in to this sick game!" He smiled

"I think I'm going to make some tea, just let me know if anyone would like some, I can make a variety if anyone has a preference" Camille offered, heading to the kitchen.

"Me and Dahlia are pretty good cooks, but since she's not here, Barry you can help me make lunch" Olivero said, dragging the much taller boy with him to the kitchen.

Renae walked back to her seat at the table, sighing as she fidgeted with her nails.

When everyone left, he glanced at Renae. "You alright?" He asks.She seemed a little down.

"Yeah... just, this family talk, me and my brother... we had a really really bad falling out with my brother... we were twins... identical..." She admitted. That didn't make much sense, since Renae was a girl and her identical brother was a boy, until she continued talking.

"For our whole lives, we spent every moment trying to be as identical as possible, to be the same... then I came out as trans, and..." She sighed. "He hated me for it, since we wouldn't be the same anymore, since I'm a girl and he's a boy" Renae sniffled. "But... I have my family here... believe it or not, I actually grew up with some of the people from here, so honestly? I think i'll be fine here... I just have regrets from outside" Renae tilted her head up, blinking so her tears wouldn't ruin her makeup

"Wow, that sucks. I...well, this probably own't help but I'm really sorry to hear that." Callen said. "The thing is, I grew up living next door to two sets of twins who didn't even try to be alike, one set was identical but acted really simillarly when they weren't trying and totally different when they were. The other set were half-twins and constantly denied they were related in any way evne though it was super obvious they were."

"But you know, at some point both of you were goign to have to take your own paths. Even though you're identical and all, and you want to be the same, there's almost no way it could happen. Everyone takes different paths in life and unless you were stuck together at the hip and did exactly the same things, it would be highly unlikely you could stay the same as the other forever. And the more you try, the less true you become to yourself and who you want to be."



(twins run like fleas through my family XP it's not even funny, we have so many and I was almost a twin as well XD)

"I already know that we can't be the same forever, it's Rin who needs to accept that and move on... especially now, I'm an ultimate student and he's still back at home, safe, with the rest of our friends and family" Renae sighed.

"But I'm not gonna let all of this bring me down, the most important people in my life are still with me here, as long as the five of us are still together, we're gonna be fine" Renae finally smiles.

*Now, let's get started with our game here!* Monokuma said enthusiastically.

*Did you say Game?* Bea asked apprehensively

*More importantly, is there really no way out?* Damien asked.

*Yeah quit screw-in with us! Tell us how we can leave!* Ace demanded

There *is* one way for you to leave the school...* Monokuma shrugged.

*Really? Then tell us! Please!* Renae begged

*As headmaster, I've crafted a special clause for those of you who would like to leave! I call it...the Graduation Clause!* Monokuma continued *Now, let me tell you about this fun little rule. As I mentioned, in order to maintain an environment of harmony here, we rely on a communal lifestyle. And if someone were to disrupt that harmony, they and they alone would be allowed to leave the school. That, my students, is the Graduation Clause!*

*How do you mean... disrupt the harmony...?* Milo spoke up, his eyes narrowing.

* Puhuhu... Well, you know... If one person were to murder another.* Monokuma told the class. A harsh, stunned silence fell over everyone, no one dared to move upon hearing this

Callen raises his eyebrows at the five but lets it pass. "You're lucky. I don't know anyone here, which makes absolutely no sense since I literally live with and next door to a bunch of genius kids. And then the school goes and picks out the one guy who doesn't actually know what he's doing in the entire group instead of the prodigy artist or the guy who literally started up an enginenering business in middle school because he got bored."



(..now that ithink about it, a lot of my characters have really major stuff going on, Meinke's an art prodigy, Newt, Ken, and Nicote are STEM bois, Vriyan's doing calculus or something while in 8th grade, Nicote actually was originally a derby champion but had to force quit after an accident....and ACallen just keeps them all from doing something stupid.)
