"No," I said. "She's grumpy because I exist."

"I think it might be Dr. Bits existing," said Lana.

"I'll be back!" I said. I ran to Elise's room. "Do you like cat toys?" I asked completely serious.

I heard Elise hiss.

"Don't disturb me again with stupid questions," Elise said.

"... so it's a yes?" I asked. I hoped she would give me a answer.

" I was born there, so..."

"Fine," she said. "I'll make you happy, stupid human. Yes." I heard her stand up. "NOW GET OUT!"

"Ah," I said. "So you've never been to Earth. How odd of Dr. Bits to choose someone from this world..."

"Thanks Elise!" I said as I darted out. I ran over to David. "She said yes." I told both David and Lana.

I fished out a catnip mouse. "I'll go give this to her," I said, running to Elise's room. "Elise."

"Maybe she'll be nicer." I told Lana. We walked past a library. "Ooh. Well would you look at that." I said to no one in paticular.
