Yeah, seriously. They found a way to escape their planet dying by living underground, it's the politics of trying to adapt to living on a dead planet with limited resources that started killing them

Pretty much
One of their Overseers (Axis) (the highest rank in their society and basically a senator to them) decided to make a god out of their hivemind computer machine after the people tried to revolt against them, figuring it was the only way to save their species because terraforming had failed without an atmosphere to start it and moving to a new planet would cost them their seat of universal and technology superiority over the rest of the known universe. Axis basically made a bunch of Daarizi mindslaves to him before the space police and X had to go break it up and kick him to the curb. Currently in that universe, that ai god still runs things for them. It's fun.
For the Daarizi, it was literally their own collective xenophobia and ego killing them

What Lark said xD, well mine is a bunch of worlds that sometimes overlap revolving revolutions in two different dimensions so I guess mine is even more of a dumpster dumpster thing
(Also I kinda want Orion to accidentally fall because he turned human in the air...but I don't know where)
