"Okay," I said. "Lana, are you coming?"

"Sure," she replied.

I began the tour, showing off my office, my tea room (not fond of coffee), the test subjects' rooms (Elise hissed. At least, it seemed like a hiss), and several other rooms. I showed them the testing room last.

"And, this is the testing room," I said. The bulletproof glass rectangle, where I test stuff on myself in, just in case, seemed to shimmer.

" who's Lana? " She asked.

"Never mind," I said. If she didn't know Lana, then Dr. Bits most certainly kept her in the dark about a lot of other things. "Do you know about the three-dimensional vortex opener I invented?"

(Funny story behind that. When I was young, and whne I learned the words "three-dimensional," I wanted to create a little saying with rhythm. So I once said "Three-dimensional vortex opener." I sang it. Then I started to drive my parents up the wazoo with me singing, "Three-dimensional vortex opener" over and over again.)

"What do you test S-David. By the way I'm calling you David." I told him. I didn't like calling him sir it sounded wrong to call him that. "Hey Lana do you think Elise, the cat lady, would like cat toys to play with?" I looked up at her wondering the answer.

She shook her head. " No, I didn't get out much. "

"Different things. Anything that I made, as I refuse to test other stuff that others made," I said. I didn't mind him calling me David.

Lana replied to the question asked, "Maybe. But she seems so... grumpy. So, maybe not."

"That makes sense," I said. "Dr. Bits likes keeping his test subjects from ever knowing the world they now live on." I thought for a second. "Hey, what planet are you from? The news keeps mentioning this planet in a different universe called Earth..."

" Haven't heard that name in a while. Nice place. You should visit sometime. " She replied.

"Is she grumpy because she's the only one of her kind?" I asked wanting her to be happy.

"I might never get to," I said. "Dr. Bits is the only one with the technology."
