Hello :)

Is there anything specific you want advice on? Ex: Making gold, battling, breeding, etc.?

A few helpful tips:

1) Be mindful of your stable space. If you need more then the original 25 stalls you can purchase more with gold (though the more you buy the higher the price will be for each additional tab). Or you can buy a new stable (starts with 25 stalls) for diamonds.dont worry about this though with your hatchery, that will automatically grow as needed.

2) Dont spend money on healing your party pets. The traveling healer and the town healers are huge scam artists XD Just take your pets off your party and they will recover in a few hours (provided they are fed)

3) Send your extra pets out on missions! Doing missions is the best way to get a steady flow of gold.
A guide here https://www.sylestia.com/forums/?thread=12841

4) Make sure you attune your pets and assign their proficiency points. It is also a good idea to equip them with gear!! This will boost their stats greatly.
A guide here https://www.sylestia.com/forums/?thread=45988

5) Its best not to catch wild pets unless they have 3 visual traits or more (or 6 carried). You can catch low trait pets if you want and if you have the funds but they won't sell.

6) If you are planning on breeding be mindful of the out comes. Beautiful pets can sell for a lot but if they have muddy colors they likely won't sell/ or they may be bought and released.

I would recommend saving up your gold because you will need it later on. for your party you would need a tank in the first slot, shadow is recommended but any pets with high health/stat can be used, then in your 2nd slot you must have fire, and light in your 3rd because light is a healer and you need healers to be protected. as for gear there are gears for each power, if the gear helps physical damage then use it on air/earth/water, any magical should be used on light/fire/shadow. plus the stats used for each power will be below the prof points so you can see what stats are need for a pet and give them armor to benefit those stats. as for your set up try to focus on one stat rather then spread them out, that way one pet can do maximum damage to the enemy. and health should also be a prof point even if you do focus on one stat since without health the power of the enemy might be bale to kill you faster than you can kill it even wit strong pets, when you focus on one stat try to focus on one of the recommend stats (the first one listed would be the most helpful) if you need any other tips or would like free eggs just tell me! (sorry if this is wordy! ^^)

Shadow is only one of the tank elements, it's hardly the only one, lunashadow (I personally have the most difficult time trying to use one that I actually gave up trying to rank my shadow pet while using her as a tank and made her the 'attacker' on a different team to do it. literally any other tank element is easier for me to use)-
Earth is the most dedicated tank, can't really do any other job well since its moveset revolves around Taunting. A stalwart defender.
Shadow can cover just about any team position given its moveset- very versatile-, but is typically used as tank, outlasting via inflicting draining debuffs on enemies.
Water is another element that can cover other bases- for water, the other main position it might take is Buffer. Water shields the team from damage, debuffs enemy stats, buffs team stats
Light is a pretty uncommon tank since it's more usually used as a dedicated Healer. Light is about the Healing.

The info in the proficiency page isn't necessarily the best to follow- for one thing, it really, really likes recommending Health. For another, it treats light as if it were primarily a tank element rather than primarily a healer.
What profs you give a pet depend on their battle position-
Tanks will get a combo of HP, attack, and agility, and will vary on the element and the player and the individual pet. Healers, Buffers, and Attackers will typically get Attack and Dexterity.
(HP being Health. it's some people's go-to stat, with at least one point in it for each of their pets, and some people have teams with no points in it at all.

Attack affects a pet's attack output- either their Physical Damage stat (Water, Earth, Air) or Magical Damage stat (Light, Shadow, Fire) (you'll want to make sure the pet's relic is the right one for their element, as they can make a large difference to a pet's total damage stat). This affects not only their damage output but also the output of their other moves, like how much damage a water pet's Ice Barrier can absorb, or how much a Light pet's Restoration heals.

Dexterity increases Accuracy and Critical hit chance (and speed), which is why it's good for everone other than the tank pet- you want your healer to have good accuracy, and the two attacker elements- fire and air- depend on critical hits to inflict fireball and slash's debuff on opponents.

Agility increases Evasion and Defences (and speed- Dex and Agi both increase a pet's quickness the same amount), which is why you want it on a tank pet- slot 1 is the slot enemies sim for the most, so the tank wants to be able to dodge as much as it can and survive what does hit.)

There are four main types of equip (until you reach lv60)- Assassin, Illusionist, Evoker, Myrmidon.
Assassin is for Physical Tanks (Earth, Water)
> gives Strength and Agility

Illusionist is for Magical Tanks (Shadow, Light if that's what you're using as tank)
> Gives Intelligence and Agility

Evoker is for Magical Attackers (Fire, rarely shadow) and Healers (Light)
> Gives Intelligence and Dexterity

Myrmidon is for Physical Attackers (Air) and Buffers (Water)
> Gives Strength and Dexterity
