If you started growing a themed pet will it disappear if you dont finish growing it?

I believe the automatically finish once the fest is over.

There is no longer an auto-finish at the end of a fest. It used to be that way, but not anymore. If the plant is not completed by the time the garden closes, you will not receive the pet. (I believe Krin does give the pets for plants that hit 100% but were not harvested though.)
