Getting started

Generator:

The first thing you need to do is generate your starter pet. You starter can have up to 4 trait points, and I recommend using all of them.

Visible:

This appears on your pet

Carried:

This can possibly get passed on to offspring, but does not appear on pet.

Visible vs. Carried:

If you're planning on doing a 6vis project someday in the future, or even thinking about it, go with carried. Carried traits only cost 1 trait point, so you can get 4 different traits!
If you're just going for looks, or have no idea what you want you're 6vis project to look like, much less even want to do it, go with visible.

Remember:

1: Give your pet traits. Traitless pets do pretty much nothing except sit around.

2: Give your pet color! My starter has no colors but the plain white that is already there. She looks BAD. And honestly, compare these two pets. Which one would you rather have?

Pet A (My starter), or Pet B(My friend's starter)?

Probably Pet B.

3: Don't do something you'll regret later! If something feels meh, don't do it. You WILL regret it later, I promise.

Your Pet:

Naming:

Now that your pet is all pretty and generated, its time for the big stuff. Number 1: Naming. Go to your stables (Explore-stables) and click on the blue 'un-named' over the image of your pet.
Then click manage and under Name Pet, type the pets name. Make it good, because this is only changeable with a Philter of Amnesia, which are hard to come across if you don't have much gold.

Proficiency:

You assign this to your pet, and you're DONE. No going back now... unless you want to pay gold to change it, but that will take a while if you don't have money raining down from the sky into your hands.

I'll give you the quick summary to proficiencies, but here's a more detailed guide to them in case you're confused.

Water: Keeps your pet alive for longer! (My starter is a water) (TANK)

Earth: Also keeps your pet alive! (TANK)

Shadow:
Keeps your pet alive, but not as well. (TANK)

Wind: Does the big blows. (CANNON)

Fire: Also hurts your opponet. (CANNON)

Light: Heals the rest of your party. (HEALER)

Cannons, Healers, and Tanks:

Tanks:

These are good damage takers. I recommend making your starter one because they will survive WAY longer than a Cannon or Healer. Which, you WILL need for the big boss battles.

Cannons:

These are the big damage dealers. They will hurt your opponent the most. However, I reccomend using this for a second or third party slot as they will die very easily.

Healers:

These help keep the other pets in your party at high health, helping you survive longer. But it won't be helpful right now because this will be the only pet in your party. So, it won't really help anyone, and as a low damage dealer, it will make battles WAY harder.

Proficiency Points:

These will give your pet a boost in a certain area. (Ex: Health will give your pet extra health)

Here are what I recommend for your pet:

If your pet is a tank: Health, agility, strength, or intellegence.

If your pet is a cannon: Strength, dexerity, health, intellegence.

If your pet is a healer: intellegence, health, agility.

See what keeps coming up? Health and intellegence. I reccomend just doing health for your starter (You can pay to change it later if needed) because it will help with all the big boss battles.

The Basics

Party:

Then you'll need to set your party. Go to explore-party and you'll see your pet at the bottom of the screen. You'll see a plus sign. Click on it to add your pet to the party.

Your First Quest!!!:

Then you need to go to the next place. (Explore-World Map-Viridian Meadows-Esior's Haven-Quest Board) You'll see a blue button reading: Accept Quest! Click on it. Then you'll see a green 'complete' on the quest log. Click on it. After this, Jinxie will talk to you for a little bit. Click the button at the bottom of the screen to get rid of her.

You'll earn 100g, a relic, and an outfit. First, click on the relic. (Hint: It looks like a triangle!) then scroll down to your pet. Under the word RELIC you'll see a box that says EMPTY. Click it and the relic gets added.

Now for the outfit. You may have to click the SWICH TO _______ button, but you should see a black, fluffy dress-like thing. Click on it, then click use. You'll be taken to a place filled with lots of stuff. Guess what? You get to cusomize your avatar. No, you don't get huge wings and pets beside you yet. You get to change your hair and outfit. Once you finish with that, click SAVE OUTFIT. (Unless you want to be in the newbie drab for longer instead of the beautiful thing you just made)

I hope you enjoy Sylestia!!!

Hello! I hope you enjoy your time here!

What's your favorite Sylesti species?

Beau basically explained it all, but if you want to read more, then here is my advice for you:
Basic Guide (sorry it's long. Scroll to the bottom if you want to skip this):
Elements and Party
My favorite element is Shadow, and it's great for noobs as well. It's a tank element, so it can attack and heal at the same time. A variety of parties can be built around a shadow pet.

My recommended lineup for you party is:
Slot 1- Shadow (tanking and survival)
Slot 2- Light (for healing) or Water (if the enemy has special, damaging attacks)
Slot 3- Fire or Wind (you should alternate between these two elements. Wind for wave attacks and Fire for attacks of 2-3 enemies).

If you only have two party slots, you can place the healer in slot one and the offensive (fire or wind) in slot two.

Equipment and Battling
Having the right equipment for your pet can help a lot with battling. You want to check your pet's proficiencies and their correspondence to the equipment's before your pet wears them.

Focus on the strongest (enemy with the most stars) enemy first, then attack the rest. It'll make defeating the weaker enemies much easier. Try to rely on your Light or Tank pets for healing, rather than using Mend, since the ability won't be available when your pets are at critically low health. Only use it when your pets are below 75% health. Also, even if the enemy has a shield or ability to block all moves/damage, still try to attack with attack 1 or quick attack; you want enough Mana for more advanced/effective blows later on.

Breeding and Tamed Pets
Themed pets, pets with good stats, and high trait point pets are going to sell the most. Release all unwanted pets, since selling at low prices can destroy Sylestia's economy.

When encountering Wild Sylestis:
Gray text (Common) = 0 trait points
Green text (Uncommon) = 1 TP
Blue text (Rare) = 2 TP
Purple text (Epic) = 4 TP
Yellow text (Legendary) = 6 TP
Red text (Mythical) = 8 TP

Green text means Carried trait. They are worth 1 trait point and can only be seen after genetic testing.
Blue text means Visible trait. They're worth 2 trait points.
Purple text means a visible trait with a hidden carried trait underneath. They can only be seen through genetic testing.

Breeding Traits Guide:
Vis + Car = 50% Car 50% Vis
Car + Car = 50% Car 25% Vis 25% N/A
Vis + N/A = 100% Car
Car + N/A = 50% Car 50% N/A
Vis + Vis = 100% Vis
N/A + N/A = 100% N/A

Currency
The best ways to make gold are missions (especially the Very Hard ones). It's an extremely effective method, plus you could recieve equipment and other items. Battling is great as well, since some enemies may drop gold or equipment you can sell.

Diamonds require real money to buy, but you can also buy them at Currency Exchange. Some items and actions, such as buying a new stable or buying essences require diamonds.

Scales are earned through nurturing. For every correctly nurtured pet, you earn 1 scale (2 for nurture boosted). You can then spend your scales at the Scale Shop. Scales are a great way to earn gold, since you can sell the Philters from the Scale Shop at the Trade Broker for a lot of gold.

Stable Space
First of all, never move adolescent Sylestis into stables before they mature. Especially if you don't have much stable space. Leave them in the hatchery.

Stable tab 2 costs 20K
Stable tab 3 costs 60K
Stable tab 4 costs 120K
Stable tab 5 costs 240K
Stable tab 6 costs 480K
Stable tab 7 and 8 also cost 480K
A new stable costs 500 diamonds, but in events, they will be on sale for 400 dias.

This is my basic advice that I find really useful for me. More guides can be found in the Player Guides section.

Players in Sylestia are extremely friendly, so if you need any help, feel free to ask!

~~~~
As a welcome gift, I'm going to send over 10K (through CoD) and this themed Cute Witch Zolnixi. Enjoy your time playing Sylestia!
