It is the year 3067. The land used to be beautiful, but after the nuclear war, the land plummeted into extreme temperatures. The snow couldn't settle, for acid from the bombs lay on the ground. The sun would burn you like a crisp. Animals could barely survive in this weather. It was the same for humans, and we kept to ourselves. We don't go out past 6 pm. It's dangerous out there. You'd be killed in seconds. Why? Because of Avalon. Avalon is a group of people that ride pure black horses to catch the people past 6 and kill them, one way or another. I am the person that has survived the longest past 6 pm. I tried to head home, but I got lost.

Alex was running as fast as she could, even though she was exhausted. She kept pushing her legs to move. The pounding hooves were gaining, and she was about to be trapped. She was up on a cliff, and the only way to escape was to jump. The Avalonians surrounded her, and she fell. She passed out but eventually regained consciousness. Nothing was broken, and she she tried to head back home, to Laura. But a horse, one of the few animals who'd survived, had run past her. She needed to check if it was hurt. She approached slowly, and the horse stared at her before slowly approaching as well. She was a beautiful mare. "Hey, girl. Easy..." But the horse had run away. Alex returned home, to her little sister, and her illegally owned horse. "It's okay, you can come out now."
