This is a choose-your-own-adventure/pick-your-path game. If you participate, you will be given a set of options each round, which may lead you into dialogue mode. In dialogue mode, you must instead speak to an npc, or a non-playable character. The choices you make will affect how others interact with you, what type of situations you get into, and sometimes, the choices presented to you.
You may sometimes find companions who will help you, and you may sometimes lose companions. Your companions may speak up at any time if they are humanoid beings. Your companion does have a mood, and it may lower or raise in response to your choices. Your companions will have personalities, and will each have their own reputation.
This game is different for every player, so you may not look to another's story to figure out your own.
-
The Rules, which must be Read AND Followed:
1. This game will have a limit of 5 people at a time doing their little stories at this time so I don't get overwhelmed. I may bump it up in the future.
2. The slots will be first-come, first-serve.
3. If you are inactive with this game for three days, you will receive a warning message. Once you have been inactive with this game for a total seven days, you will be removed and your slot would be open for someone else to fill. Days that I cannot post do not count against you!
4. Failure to follow the rules thrice, earning a strike each time, will result in immediate death of your character by an unstoppable cause and you will be removed from the game, with the spot open for someone else to fill.
5. NO cursing/swearing/foul language. "Heck, frick, etc." is allowed. However, if you really want to cuss, please make a creative phrase of random words, such as, "Flabbergasted Peacocks!"
6. Do not be mean to another player.
7. Do not act like it is a sob story that someone else has more of anything than you.
8. Do not complain. You can joke, but no complaints. Please, keep this lighthearted.
9. NO dirty references.
10. Your choices may lead your character to die.
11. Please do not PM me asking if any spots will be opened. When/if spots are opened, they will usually be random. I may choose to expand the amount of people playing if I so wish.
12. Your character can either be evil or good, lawful or chaotic, really up to you. It is best, though, that you stick to a personality with your character.
13. You may have no more than 3 companions travelling with you at any given time.
14. You MAY reserve a spot.
15. Please, I ask of you, be creative in your character! I don't want everyone to be elves!
16. Try to use correct grammar/spelling, please. I do. It's not that hard to capitalize the first letter in a sentence and add punctuation! Your replies don't have to be long (they can be if you want), but please make them legible.
17. No GodModding, basically? I run the game, not you. It's my job to determine scenarios and yours to react.
18. Have fun!

The plot of The Amazing World of Arctoch is different for each character! In general, though, it is about trying to stay alive and finding your own plot and side plotlines. Your character is situated in the land of Arctoch. Arctoch has a mountainous tundra area, a desert area, a grassland, a forest, a swamp, a river area, and two lakes.
-
Gameplay:
The currency in Arctoch is called Sprites. A Sprite is a small, carved teardrop shaped purple gem.
Each player will start out their game with 20 Sprites, a bag, armor that suits their character, a /normal/ weapon of their choice, and some pieces of meat and fruits in their bag.
-
Creating Your Character:
You are one of six humanoid creatures. In your first post, you are to create your character, filling out a form. The humanoid creatures are as follows:
Human - Playing as a human is the most basic role you are able to fill. Humans are exceptionally charismatic creatures, and can cover just about any weapon, or magic. The human species is the most flexible for you to start off with. Humans live in villages, so that must be a part of your backstory if you are a human. Human names are typically flowing and connected. Humans have skin ranging from pale to dark, and hair ranging from light to dark, or red. Humans average about 5'6, but can be taller/shorter. Humans do not carry with them much of a reputation.
Orc - Orcs are very strong creatures. They do best with heavier armor, and heavier weapons. Orcs tend to be more hotheaded and high-tempered, but not all are. Orcs are able to learn magic, but their magic tends to be unpredictable. This species does not do well with a bow and arrow. They live in solitude most of the time. Think feral cats living outside a colony. Orc names are short, choppy, and to the point. Orcs have skin ranging from light to dark green, and hair that lies on the grayscale. They are a tall species, averaging about 6'7, and do not have much variance. All orcs have two tusks. Orcs tend to have a negative reputation.
Sun Elf - The Sun Elves, known within their own kind as Harlyyns, are diplomatic creatures. They worship the Sun God, Vorshrak. They are known to engage in conflict as little as possible. They're quick on their feet, and thusly, better suited for magic or archery and light armor. They live in tribes in the middle of forests and in most Sun Elf names, the letter 'R' is important and common. Their names tend to be slightly more disjuncted than a human's with unnecessary double letters. Sun Elf skin is typically very fair and light, and their hair ranges from light to dark, but no red. They average 5'8 in height but can have much variance. Sun Elves usually carry a positive reputation.
Stone Elf - The Stone Elves, known to their kind as Eols, in the Great Divide of the Elven race some thousand millennia ago, chose to worship no God and instead look towards the natural earth. They're very geared towards balance and law, and have an innate thirst for knowledge. The Stone Elves are the wittiest of the elven types. They're quick on their feet, and thusly, better suited for magic or archery and light armor. They live in tribes in the middle of forests and the letter 'R' is absent in /all/ Stone Elf names. Their names are slightly more disjuncted than a human's with unnecessary double letters. Stone Elves usually have very grayish or ashen skin, and their hair ranges from light to dark, but no red. They average 5'9 in height with much variance. They typically have a neutral reputation.
Moon Elf - The Moon Elves, known to their kind as Sterrinochs, are chaotic and warlike. They worship the Moon Goddess Bristrro. The Moon Elves do not seek conflict, but prefer to sort issues with blood rather than words. They're quick on their feet, and thusly, better suited for magic or archery and light armor. They live in tribes in the middle of forests and in most Moon Elf names, the letter 'R' is important and common. Their names tend to be slightly more disjuncted than a human's with unnecessary double letters. Moon Elf skin is typically darker, more caramel or chocolate colored. Their hair ranges from light to dark, but no red. They average 5'8 in height with much variance. Moon Elves usually have a negative reputation.
Dwarf - Dwarves are hardworking, strong creatures that are better suited for heavier armor, but not necessarily heavier weapons. A dwarf does well with heavy weapons, but also with archery. Dwarves are completely incapable of any magic. Dwarves are usually very kind to strangers, and they work better in teams. The dwarves are commonly found living in clans underground. Their names are usually heavily accented and disjuncted. A dwarf averages about 4'5 in height, but can have slight variances. Dwarves range in complexion and hair color as humans do. A dwarf will typically carry a positive reputation, as dwarves tend to be your usual workers.

(This is the beginning post for ALL new players!)
You awaken in a simple red-sheeted bed in the room of a small tavern. You hardly remember collapsing in the human town of Destinmane, a safe haven it seemed within the endless grassland. You groan and rub your head as you sit up, and then notice a young man bent over a desk on the opposite side of the room.
He seems to realize you're up and turns to face you, a nervous smile on his face. "Hi! Uh... You must be pretty confused," he laughed and rubbed the back of his head. "Um. Well, I'm Eprin. I, uh, I took you to this tavern I work at when you fell in the middle of Destinmane. It was kinda weird. You just kinda ran in and then you were down. You seem fine to me, though," he shrugged. "But I don't think Destinmane was your destination, was it?"
You shake your head no. It wasn't.
He nodded a few times. "That's what I thought. Well, I've gathered your stuff beside the bed there. You're okay to be on your way now. Just know that you've got a friend here," he grinned reassuringly.
What do you wish to do?
a) Speak with Eprin more
b) Explore the town of Destinmane
c) Leave the town of Destinmane
d) Kill Eprin
e) Pickpocket Eprin
f) Other

Race: Stone Elf
Weapon of Preference: Magic...? If that's not a weapon...I'll go with Bow
Backstory (Not needed immediately): Here's a really quick version of it. Ochyllyss is a young herbalist who travels around Arctoch to look for peculiar species of herbs and plants for healing purposes back at her tribe. However, due to once picking sacred herbs from a tribe of moon elves unknowingly, she has been hunted for by the moon elves across Arctoch. They swore to bring her back to the forest as their hostage. She travels great distances now, mainly to run-but also for the purpose of looking for more herbs. She has a small leaf-bat named Gaemon whom she loves dearly.

You don't need to remove it! :). Just leave it there~. Some people edit their forms onto the post, but it's up to them. You can always post it separate.
Also, make sure you ping me from now on! The first reserving posts don't need pinging, but when we start the roleplaying I'm gonna need to be pinged for your replies or else I might miss some lol.

(Idk if I have the option to roleplay this out as long as I follow one of the letters lol but Ill go with A. Sorry if its a bit rusty I havent rped for a while...
Naesala carefully raised a hand to her head. She felt a pounding pressure that seemed to be growing. After another moment she looked back up at Eprin. *Destinmane, you say?*, her speech slightly slurred from grogginess. *No. No, Im not supposed to be here.* She stopped and just looked at the floor for a few moments, trying to remember what she had set out to do. She glanced at her bag, noticing the beautiful, ornately crafted bow her father had given her before she set out. A dozen silver-tipped arrows rested in a quiver that matched the designs of the bow. She sighed aggrivatedly, and leaned over. *What was I doing?* She grabbed her brown leather bag, stuffed to the brim with spare supplies and slung it over her shoulder, and grabbed her quiver and bow, doing the same, then turned back towards Eprin. *Thank you for your hospitality.* She stood up to begin walking to the door to leave, but felt an immense, sharp pain shoot up through her left leg from the ankle. She gritted her teeth, glancing back at Eprin. She didnt want to show any sign of weakness, especially since she had no idea who this man was. She stood for a moment, leaning on her right leg, before making a decision and turning back to sit on the bed. *So, you own this tavern? Is there much traffic through here? Have you seen any other sun elves recently?*

(Your reply can be as long as you want, just make sure you make it clear to me which option you choose~. And it would be nice if you added quotation marks to denote when she speaks ;). Also, just a heads-up, I did provide your character with a bow and arrows, but not daggers, so you can probably buy those somewhere~. And can you ping me when you reply please?)
Eprin's eyes widened slightly. "Oh, no! I don't own it," he shook his head. "I only work here. My sister owns it. We get some traffic, yeah, but not much. Destinmane is pretty small. We mostly cater to travelers and merchants. Only a handful actually live here. And we get all sorts of travelling folks, sun elves included," he nodded.
(Note: I will not be giving you options in what is known as 'dialogue mode'. It is merely, well, dialogue! But once I see an opportunity for options, like a close of conversation, I will present them.)
