I nurture a lot of pets and have only ever found one essence, which ended up being for one of my least favourite species. I think having species as a search option in the nurturing menu would encourage more people to nurture pets, in the hope that they could get some essence for a particular species that they might be doing a project on. I understand that this may not be included on purpose so that people don't just nurture for personal gain, but I think it would make more people nurture in general.

Instead of using the nurture feature in the hatchery, you can nurture a specific species of Sylestie by using the advanced search. Simply use the drop-down to select your species, then select eggling or hatchling.

thanks, that helps me!
But it's a bit obscure and slow, so I don't think many people use it

I believe this was requested before. If I remember correctly, the answer to this was that some species would get a lot of attention while others would be left and ignored. For example, Zolnixis, one of the most popular species on the site, would get tons of attention and their eggs would hatch much quicker. Meanwhile, Lunemaras who aren't as popular, would not hatch as fast as the Zolnixis due to the lack of nurturing they recieve.

IMO a feature like this would also take all the effort out of target nurturing for contests. I end up nurturing all the species 'cos it takes too long for me to go through advanced search and target a specific species. So in that sense, a feature that let you target nurture in the hatchery would be great. But that would also devalue the hard work of the people who go to every length to nurture every pet of a species daily in order to win the top spot in a contest. People like me who nurture avidly in the hatchery could take the top spots with less effort, and it wouldn't really be as special.
