Quite a bit ago, for those that remember, we added Inbreeding Coefficients to pets. Originally, we calculated the %age back to 12 generations.
However, after some time has passed, the algorithm that we use to calculate this is getting very bogged down now that pet lineages are getting longer. As such, it pretty much reached the point where it can't function anymore.
To resolve this issue, I had to lower the generations it looks at down to 9, which greatly, massively, significantly reduces the amount of work required to calculate the coefficient. However, doing so, I've had to reset all of the originally calculated %ages. Additionally, since it's only looking back 9 generations, the inbreeding coefficients for the majority of inbred pets will become a smaller amount. Basically, you can interpret it as the game only considers a pet inbred if its parents share ancestors only going back 9 generations instead of 12.
Overall, it's not really a significant change as the Inbreeding Coefficient isn't really used for anything. But if you're wondering why all of your pets were reset / now have a different value - now you know why!

Will inbreeding coefficients ever have and in-game effect on breeding or will they forever just be there for curiosity's sake?

Was wondering about why some of my pets still have pending *Calculating Inbreeding*. Thanks for notifying us!

We have nothing planned at this time. That doesn't mean it's impossible... but at this point in time, we have no ideas in mind. =P

Or the ability to create your own mutation once you get close to 100 or if you hit it

what if we had it so that once you reached 100%,5x then you submit an idea for a new mutation, and out of the thousands of players,21of the new mutations(1 for each species) are picked ever 3 months.?sort of a warp on Glitter's and Katelynn's ideas.

I doubt it will but this won't have any effect on Purebreds and or their value.
And we can still go back to like gen 21 or something ridiculous, right?
