So, after being here for three years I'm heavily considering leaving. I already have a plan to be offline as a whole concept for a full month(checking in on my birthday to feed pets and the like), and I'm hoping that my time away will help....however if that time offline doesn't help then I may be extending my leave of absence.

Additionally I'm considering talking some college courses(online) starting hopefully in the fall, which would also limit my availability to be here.

Me leaving entirely is fairly tentative at this time, but I can't say how many people care either way what I end up doing.

CSI(Crime Scene Investigation, Forensics)and Criminology classes threw a junior college that offers the courses online.

It use to be that the nearest place to take them was in Sacramento(3 hours away), but now MJC(in Modesto is offering the classes online, and I think on campus too.

I know that real life is more important, but real life for me is really rough(partly due to my disabilities), and the rest due to external beyond my control things(like having to go out of town just to see a Rheumatologist, who is 2 hours away). This last year(2015) was largely VERY horrible and being here use to help....but now I'm feeling kinda unwelcomed and I feel as though my support system is falling apart.

very cool! we can definitely use some more good people to be crime investigators! (sadly especially in this day and age:(
And i'm sorry your life is rough, it sucks when it feels like the whole world is against you, its at those times that good friends and family help the most.
if you ever wanna visit, i'm be happy to listen and pray for you(if that's ok)

Yeah, I'm hoping that I can somehow manage to convince my local PD to get their own CSIs, because I believe the currently use out of town resources, which I don't feel is very efficient. At the very least the classes will help me write my mystery novels better, and at most give me a fun job in a lab helping catch bad people.

That would be a big help, thank you. :)

i've always thought the CSI's were pretty awesome because they're so helpful and their insight is very important on murder cases. And writting a novel, that's pretty cool!

They really are, and in my town there I think are a few cold cases that forensics could clear up. I'd love to see my town get better and more bad people get put where they belong, but due to the lack od CSI's and profilers(like the BAU in Criminal Minds) I think it's compromised things here to a level.

Yeah, I've been working on several novels(graphic novels, like Sin City), but I want/need to have enough to submit to the publisher to hopefully get it published next year. Part of why I'm taking a leave of absence is to work solidly on at least my first five chapters. I gave myself a deadline of December 31st 2016 to submit it to see if the publisher is willing to except the full manuscript. Though I'm pretty sure they will, Dark Horse Publishers(the same people who published Sin City) are very good to people that approach them to publish their works. They let the creator retain all rights to the characters/material they have made, Dark Horse only handles the publishing and marketing(getting it in to stores). I did loads of research on publishers before picking Dark Horse. My books are mainly Horror, Mystery, and Dark Fantasy...though I have a Dark Fantasy/Romance novel notes buried somewhere.

Yeah, I've spent many years researching publishers in general after my step dad had some of his works stolen when he worked for a Table Top Role Playing Game publisher....I don't want to have the same thing to happen to me, though to be honest my step dad did blindly rush into the job so it's really his fault it happened cause he didn't think and didn't bother looking into the people who hired him to see if they where a reputable publishing company. I just now checked to see if they still exist, and it looks like they don't, which is also good cause if they stole from one person who knows how many others they stole from. But due to my step dads publishing experiences he spent years trying to convince me not to ever publish my stuff...I took his mistake/failure as a learning tool and did all the possible needed research to protect myself and my work.

I'll be sure to let you know. As I can promise that I'll have a huge celebratory post in the off topic chat section.

Thankfully writing the novel will be easy, I have notes and a rough draft to go from and I'm working on my characters so I can get a better feel for them. All my books will be interconnected(taking place in the same world and city), and it's very likely that characters from one series will pop up and/or be mentioned in the other series.

that's awesome:P i love books that are all different but somehow connected to where all the characters meet in one:) and that sucks about your dad, but we all definitely learn from our mistakes(most of the time lol)

i've always wanted to write a book(i write more about animals^^) but everytime i get one started, I seem to always lose interest, but my newest one I really want to finish:)

its about a cat who lives in a humane society, from the cat's point of view(I love reading the Warriors books by Erin Hunter when i was young)
