So, for the Fall festival I'd really like to see a haunted house in action. This would only be an idea if we are completely replacing the Mojo Contest.

In this scenario you would enter the Haunted House and have to make one of three choices: Attic, Garden, or Basement.

Depending on which of these you choose you will be moved to a different maze that will have its own advantages and disadvantages. (All of these mazes being fairly short.)

If you choose Attic it would be moderately dim, meaning you would have to use your flashlight to move forward a few times. It would also be dusty which would mean you need your broom to make progress as well.

If you choose Garden then it won't be very dark as you are outside, so you won't need your flashlight very often. However, it will be weedy so you will need your weed killer to make it through.

Finally, if you choose Basement then it will be very dark, meaning you will need your flashlight quite often. It would also be full of rats
that you'll need your black cat to scare off for you.

Each of the paths would be the same length but have a slightly different path with different spawn points for hazards and possibly bonuses. Flashlights can either be given a certain battery life (clicks) or be one use and you have to stock multiples. You use them to move through a shadow and if you don't have one you can't go any further and must leave the haunted house. Brooms, weed killer, and cats would be used on dust, weeds, and rats to remove them from a bonus prize you can find in the maze. If you manage to reach the end of the maze, then you would claim your prize. Most likely either some festival currency, pet ingredient, or grave marker. Or some combination of the three. Obviously, the "goodness" of the end prize would scale with the maze you choose to complete. The garden being the "easy" option, the attic the "medium" and the basement the "hard." But with bonuses having either the same or nearly the same chances of spawning the same items.

To create your haunted house pet in this scenario, you would take whatever you are making the pet out of, and make your way to the Sylesti Sematary and pick out a nice grave plot. You can then erect either a crude cross (1 visible pet), gravestone (2 visible pet), or a mausoleum (3 visible pet), and then wait for your pet to come back to you.

To obtain grave markers they could be a prize from completing the maze, and perhaps for sale in the shops. For example a splintered coffin could contain either a crude cross or gravestone. While a jeweled coffin could contain any of the three.

Of course, if the mojo contests are coming back this idea could be modified, such as removing the Sematary altogether and simply making the prizes mojo collectors, exclusive items, and festival currency.

But anyway, that's my idea. If anyone has something they think would make a good change or addition simply say so. :)

@Junco

Well, I wouldn't imagine that you actually see the haunted house (except maybe a cover image once) just the paths that are inside.

@Cyan

And yes, totally. I mean, the joke's right there. :P

This sounds like fun! I am in favor of anything that doesn't require grinding in order to get cool pets.

Well, I would think you would probably still need to grind to get the items you need to complete the maze, and probably go through the maze many times to get everything you need.

But I'm glad you think it sounds like fun. c:

I think it would be a challenge but still something most anyone could do with some effort, and that could quite possibly have a good payoff in the end.
