So, I don't know about everyone, but I absolutely loved doing the sylesti plants this festival! It was one of the things I enjoyed the most this Spring Festival. So, this gave me an idea for the Summer Festival, since the Sylesti garden was very successful, from what I've heard. Why don't we have a fish aquarium and pond for the Summer Festival(inspired by one of my favourite summer activities, fishing). The sylesties we can get would be inspired by various species of fish.
I've modelled my idea similarly to the sylesti garden as it worked out quite well, but it could be done in numerous ways.
Sylesti Aquarium
To start, above all else, you would need an aquarium before you get fish. For this, there would be individual aquariums for each fish. Kind of like Sadie Wildflower, the NPC in charge of this would give you a couple to start, but you would have to provide the rest. And just like the flower pots, additional aquariums can be obtained using the same methods(ie chests, diamonds, seasonal shop, enemies, etc).
After you have your aquarium, you need to add gravel to the tank, much like soil to the flower pot. I think it would be neat if there were colour options, for aesthetic purposes.
Now you can add your fish. Fish can be obtained much like how the seed pouches were. There would be a fish pond which would take the place of the Majestic Maze of Amazements. I will explain that in it's own section. Now, the fish would come in a bag, kind of like how the pet stores pack them for you when you buy one. The item would be called something like "Fish Bag" or "Fish In A Bag". When you open it up, you identify the type of fish, and each one would correspond to a species of sylesti. You can then pick from your identified fish, place it in your tank, and raise it. At the end, the fully raised fish will lay a sylesti egg which you collect and it will be your new fish themed pet.
You can obtain different qualities of fish food that determine how many visual traits the sylesti egg the fish lays will have. Your fish starts off with basic fish food which will give you one carried trait. Lesser fish food gives you one visual, greater fish food gives you two visuals, and exceptional fish food gives you three visuals. Much like the plant fertilizer, the fish food can be upgraded.
Now, your fish will need care from time to time, and this is where aquarium products come in handy. There would be "Jar of Clean Water", for when the tank water needs to be changed. "Water Conditioner" would be used when the water needs to be conditioned for the fish. And "Tank Scrubber" would be used when there is an algae build up in the tank. These conditions would randomly happen, much like the conditions that would happen to the potted plants.
Fish Pond
The Fish Pond would take the place of the Majestic Maze of Amazements. And there would be two options as well. The Lucky Pond, where the fish always bite but you are only allowed a limited number of casts, and the Chance Pond, where after a couple of casts, the fish become more picky and may not bite. Your casts would end when either the fish stop biting after you cast, or you get your fabled sylesti egg at the end.
Now, on to how it all works. After talking to the NPC, where he/she explains your options and then hands you a fishing rod, you then pick your pond and head to the corresponding dock. Afterwards, you are then presented with one of two random bait choices(worm, jig, fly, spinner, etc), and you pick one of them to use for that cast. For the Lucky Pond, you just keep picking after each cast until you use up all your casts. For the Chance Pond, after your first two(or whichever number is decided upon) casts, only one of the two bait choices will entice a fish to bite. The other choice will just result in the fish turning up their noses at your bait and you will be done.
What can be encountered:
There are certain fish the NPC is looking for and if you happen to catch any of them, the NPC will give you goodies in exchange for them.
Useful fish: the NPC will give you a Large Package of Aquarium Products(contains one of each: Jar of Clean Water, Water Conditioner, and Tank Scrubber) in exchange for this fish.
Feeder fish: the NPC will give you a Premium Bag of fish food in exchange for this fish. It will contain one of the three types of fish food(lesser, greater, or exceptional).
Attractive fish: the NPC will give you a Philter of Themed Attraction in exchange for this fish.
Odd fish: the NPC will give you a Philter of Trait Disruption(Themed) in exchange for this fish.
There are also things that you can encounter yourself, without handing them over to the NPC.
Mysterious fish: "You've encountered a strange fish that needs to be identified." Essentially, you bag up this fish, and it becomes a "Premium Fish In A Bag" item, which you take with you to identify later. It could be a fish that produces any species of sylesti, including the fabled species.
Boss fish: this would be your boss that would fight you after you real it in. After defeating it, you would get your legendary avatar item along with some other goodies.
Oyster: Potentially caught using your last cast in the Lucky Pond, and always encountered in the Chance Pond if you select the right baits up until the very end. You open up the oyster to reveal a fabled sylesti egg inside.
Well, it is late here and I wrote this after coming home from going to see Avengers: Age of Ultron, so I hope this makes sense and the grammar is okay. As always, I'd love to hear what everyone thinks of my idea, and any ways it could be improved, etc.

I kinda like the theme... but at the same time I'd also like to see each festival distinct from each other, so I might tweak how your ponds work. For example, I like the Boss Fish, Mysterious Fish and Oyster idea, but I think I might tweak the tank idea a bit, and the fish kinda give me an idea for a different way to handle this...
I think it would be cool if, instead of the fertilizers, we had different tanks we could use. Like you say, they could be found in the usual way (special boxes, found from enemies, the Boss Fish, for diamonds in the Festival Shop, etc...), but different shapes would be available- Regular Square, Round Bowl, and maybe a special Star shaped tank? And these would determine how many carries you have.
Next, I think it would be cool if when you fish, you collect different kinds of fish, and then once they are raised in your tank and nurtured to adulthood, you BREED those fish together, with the resulting egg being the different kinds of fish sylesti (can we include frogs and other amphibians, and maybe a water fowl or two? lol... I can imagine a Salamander Draeyl, or maybe a Duck Aurleon, and a Grebe Nyt, or Heron Griffi...) Anyway, there would be maybe four fish you could catch and raise, and the combination of these together is what creates the different species of Sylesti. You might have say, Big-mouth Bass, Little Stickleback, Shiny Perch, and Really Gold Fish. Once they are adults (through feeding and nurturing), you can try breeding every set number of hours. Breed two Really Gold Fish successfully, and you might get a Fairy-fin Nephini. Goldfish and Perch might get you a Peacock Perch Puffadore, while the goldy and the Stickleback will give you a Horned Toad Nyvene. Two little Sticklebacks might give you a Salamander Drayle, etc. Some of the fish (the ones that give you the exclusive pets) would be harder to catch of course, while others you could get multiples of easily. Unlike the pots this time though, you would keep all the tanks once it has a fish in it, to breed them together later. You would need to keep feeding and nurturing the fish to keep them in breeding form though.
It would be important to note that not all the fish would breed together. So if the fish in tank one and two won't breed together, try those in two and three. Or maybe you could get (or find) special fish food to entice them into breeding? Lots of possibilities there... Anyway, with lots of failures, and a cooling down time between breedings, Krin could limit the numbers of each pet being produced, even slowing down the breeding ratios in the middle if needed. But we would still be able to keep trying. I think it would be fun to do, too.
Sorry, don't mean to skype your thread, lol... I just kind of went off on a wild tangent from your initial suggestion, lol. Anyway, since we won't have a wheel, this could be lots of fun!
I can also see the "bandits" in fishermen's garb, being "poachers" or something. Some would have fishing poles instead of the usual swords and staffs, others wet fish! lol.
And maybe instead of the usual maze, we could be out in boats on a marsh kind of thing. A few island would hold mini bosses. One big one would hold the spawning site for the Boss Fish? However that would work.

I really like this idea, it would be awesome if there could be other animals, amphibians and reptiles as well, it would give you more of a variety of designs to be created. I was thinking of something else for the Summer fest, like a seashell shop or something, but I like this one much better c:

I like the basic idea of it being fish themed. (I also like the seashell idea as well.) Just not quite sure about the fish laying sylesti eggs part though. But I can't come up with an idea on how to do it differently, either.
