An idea to keep pets exclusive but encourage people to compete for all 10 spots on the leaderboard rather than just 4, reducing hurt feelings and the amount of time necessary to get a prize.
We could have a leaderboard which awards a prize to the top 10, like the mojo did.
Top Spot - 3Vis
2nd Place - 3Vis
3rd - 2 Vis
4th - 2 Vis
5th through 10th 1x Premium seed pouch
This way people are still fighting for a chance to get their dream pet or a pet they could trade for their dream pet, but the admins are not required to give out 10 exclusive pets per leaderboard. The premium seed pouches are hard to come by to the average player so this could be an excellent way to provide another avenue for them to win a pouch. Some people would get premium pets from the pouches, many wouldn't, but the chance would be something people could aim towards, rather than missing out on the 4th slot and getting nothing.

I support this idea. There's been many people who are putting lots of effort into the leaderboards. I'd love to see them all get something.
I've also wondered about possibly an egg for the fifth spot (perhaps 1-vis?). But that's probably asking a lot since there are concerns about keeping fabled rare. The random pouches though sound wonderful!

Full support. What's going on now isn't all that bad, really, but this festival encompasses Mothers' Day, and some people would be torn between spending time with their family, or keeping their spot on the leaderboards.

I support this as well, though I would also like to suggest potentially returning to the mojo style of a round lasting for half of the festival instead of the entire fest, as those going for slots can't even really enjoy the fest all that much if they're devoting so much time to grinding for the leaderboard spots.
There doesn't necessarily need to be a second round.. but having some time to just enjoy the fest for the competitive types without having to compete the entire time would be nice.

Totally agree with Zelly, I think the "two rounds" system was a lot better and allowed people to plan more efficiently.

I like the idea of a shorter round as well even if it's just one round.

Great idea Karma! Rare items like that filter would be a good "lesser" prize as well :)

Support!
I would also suggest making leaderboards anonymous maybe? I've seen some salty stuff lately due to names and etc, and since anonymous names worked for Eggling Auction, maybe it may work here?

I do like that idea, Flute.
I'm not sure how much of the problem it'd solve (people are gonna talk about what they're working on) but it's definitely something.
