For the "Proficiencies" or Elemental attacks, does anyone else feel the system is severely long and in need of a serious update?

Every 5 Levels you get "1", and I repeat, only "1" pro point. You need 5 pro points before you even get your first elemental spell?

I feel by level 5, you should already have your first Elemental spell. Waiting until lvl 25 to gain access to your first spell is unlike any version of pokemon, digimon, monster rancher, etc.

Instead, gaining 1 Pro point a level or 5 Pro points every 5 levels would make more sense.

By the time your level 30+, you should in theory, have at least 3-4 spells to cast in your arsenal. Instead, you only have one spell all the way up to level 60? That doesn't make any sense and sets players up to fail.

I know this game is in Beta, and I really love the concepts. I just really hope the Spell leveling system gets a major re-work soon.

Anyone else have thoughts on the spell system (Proficiency)?

Thanks for your time.

Im sorry but I dont feel this way at all, levling is fairly easy in this game, specially due and thanks to the glorious missions. (All hail the missions as the superfeuture). Levling isnt really that much of a problem. Sure its getting a tad harder as the sylestis are lvl 50+ but still goes pretty easly with the missions. I didnt evern realice how easy this system is and it is easy to use. I even dare to sya they could raise he lvl gaps to make it more of a challange My lvl 60s have been mainly lvld by doing missions up for lvl 20 pets. So to say that its hard to get I cant wrap my head around. THis game is fairly easy in my opinion. And to be lvl 25 to have your first elemental spell isnt that bad. It means you can put more of a punc in your atk if wanted. Use the elementalpoints to improve your atk, your agility or health. Its still easy and a good system.

As far as I know, the admins are re-working several features into the new Sylestia, and maybe pet moves for battle is one of em. ^^

I'm pretty neutral on this topic. I can understand early-level frustrations, and I think it's because of Sylestia's clunky and not-so-friendly battle mechanics. I believe that the admins will try to make it easier for newbies, so that there won't be frustration at the early levels. Otherwise...

For me, early level battles weren't complicated. They weren't anything beyond 'keep attacking with this attack until enemy dies'.
It took a bit of forever to get to level 25 in comparison to trying to level up from 1 to 2. And once I got to 25, it felt like the new move I got didn't make a difference in my strategy (to keep attacking to death).

As a maker of one of the pet-building-and-statting guides, I think there's more to pets than the moves. Having a well-equiped and well-statted pet makes a big difference in suvivability. For newbies, that's a bit tough, since the game is new to them. But with time, it becomes manageable.

I support revamping the battle system in all, in hopes that newbies can better understand it and have an easier time with it, since battling and exploring go hand in hand and are a big part of the game.
I can't say that I experienced difficulty, or if there was a difficulty curve (okay MAYBE there was one at Talon's, but it took quite a bit of grinding and equipment, like other MMORPGs), but if revamping the game involves lessening the difficulty at first to help newbies, that'd be okay, for the sake of helping people into the game. ^^

An improved battle system is mentioned in the Sylestia's Upcoming Development thread. But I have to agree with Flute that having a pet well geared and with a good proficiency build makes a great deal of difference. It's been a long time though since I've played the early parts of the game but thinking back I had a much easier time after getting my team's proficiences and gear set up a certain way.

Honestly what bugs me about the current system isn't the way it WORKS now (which is fine, btw, imho), but the way there is this big long list of possibilities in the skill trees, and we only get to the first couple levels of this big long list, when our pets are fully leveled at level 60. I am sure when it was created there were plans to level it up all the way, but to have those there in the skill tree and no way to get to them? That's what bothers me, especially when a "fully leveled pet" at level sixty is still so very much a beginner on the skill trees.

If it weren't for that, I'd be fine with the way things are, honestly, lol. It works the way it is. It's so easy to change skills if you want, etc. and as was mentioned, leveling a pet up isn't particularly hard either. I do it mostly through battling myself, and it can be a bit of a slog, but it's not too bad.

Anyway, I understand exactly where you are coming from. I just wish we could use more of the skill tree we can see, when fully leveled.

Leveling up wasn't an issue. Not being able to learn more than 1 spell until level 50 is a bit lame.

We should gain 5 points every 5 levels or simply gain a point a level.

Any "pokemon" oriented games I've played you don't go to the pokemon league only knowing one attack spell. lol
