Because of something that happened to me, I'd really like this to be implanted.
When I get a themed pet, a male esp., I'll set him to breed. But then I ACCIDENTLY set to SALE and someone buys him. It'd be nice if there was notification in your account overview saying, "[Name] would like to buy [Pet Name]. Accept?" because some people who accidently buy don't give pets back. Not naming, just saying. I know there are solutions like putting on equipment but... This would really be great because I pet I set for breeding was bought for 2.5k gold and even so I was ripped off for at least a million gold. :/

In mishaps where players have accidentally (or glitched, some people say) set their pets on sale when they meant to breed them, PMing the buyer often works. If communication doesn't work, I suppose you can ask an admin...
But I assume you already knew the above, and its kinda something you have no control over if it was an accident and the other player won't reply back.
At any rate, I feel that while this is a valid suggestion, not just for themed pets but for ANY PET with any high value to ANY owner, it's kinda stepping out of bounds into unnecessary territory. Particularly because public sale and public breeding are exactly what they are meant to be, public sale for anyone, and public breeding for anyone.
It stinks that this has happened to you as a result of an accident, and many people have been victim to this (where the buyer just doesn't respond to communication).
I think it would be nice to see a revamp where it's probably less likely to make a mistake when setting up a pet for breeding vs setting a pet for sale, instead of a "themed pet sale confirmation".
Because essentially, this sort of thing happens mainly because of unwanted accidents (and apparently communication doesn't work), but extra checks on whether someone wants to buy a pet or not may not be as good of an answer compared to just having a clear cut way to set a pet up for what someone wants, WITHOUT getting one or the other confused or prone to accidents.

The admins will usually try to resolve these sort of issues if two players can't come to some sort of agreement. It's extremely rare for someone to try holding onto the pet as in this case, but I'm sure it's happened before. You also said it's a themed pet, and one with a high value so I'm guessing it's an exclusive; considering that, the admins may be more inclined to step in and give you a hand.
As for your suggestion, perhaps a confirmation for setting the pet for sale? Otherwise there would be no possible way to purchase pets from a player who no longer logs on.
Or what I wouldn't mind seeing myself, a new menu to set those options. Having sale and breed right on top of each other, THEN beneath those two in a separate segment, sell to and breed to for the UserID sets... Ehhh it looks like it could use a better format. Maybe a BIG segment for SALES, and a BIG segment for BREEDS. Like this:
_____________________________________
NAME PET: ______________
_____________________________________
SELL PET
Price: _______
UserID: _______
_____________________________________
BREED PET
Price: ______
UserID: ______
_____________________________________
Not near as likely to mix the two up when they're not right on top of each other.

Really? I might try PMing... >.<'
But yeah that would be...strange... Perhaps when you click set prices and you're selling it could say "[Theme Pet Name (Mysterious Love Ryori)] has been set for sale" so you at least you're selling a themed >.>"
Edit- Willow said when she said it krin said it would be punishing the player for buying the pet...

I think one way to help might be a toggable option to display a warning, "Are you sure you want to sell this pet?".
What I do when setting up pets for breeding price is bring up an advanced search in another tab. I select it to have my name and to show what pets I have for sale. As I price pets for breeding I click search from time to time as a quick way to double check that I didn't accidentally set ones up for sale instead. Of course if someone buys a pet immediately this wouldn't help, but so long as someone isn't browsing pets right when you're setting things up then it can help prevent losing a pet.

I don't support limiting it just to themed pets or needing to accept a sale, but either changing the design so that sale/breeding price is with the id instead of prices in one area and ID in another or making it so that you have a confirmation if you're setting a pet up for sale would be really nice. Especially for public sale. Both would actually be really nice too.
I know I had a problem with sale vs. breeding once, where I set a pet up for sale instead of breeding... Thankfully it was a private one and the user told me about the error so I could fix it. I had another time when I was buying a pet and the owner accidentally put it up for public sale instead of private, though thankfully I did get my pet.
Because of these situations and the stories I've heard from others I've become paranoid about accidentally selling my beloved pets because they were accidentally set up for public sale instead of private or breeding. I've often pondered about how nice it would be if there were some security feature to make it more difficult to accidentally sell a pet. I would love to see something come into play, especially since most of the valuable pets are lvl 0 and thus are very difficult to get equipment for them to use the equipment prevention.

I agree with what's been mentioned. Needing confirmation would just complicate things. Plus, can you image the coding? It wouldn't just be adding in a pop-up, there would need to be a place to keep your gold so that you don't spend it before the person accepts. Plus, what happens to the pet? Other people shouldn't be able to buy it if you're waiting for confirmation, so is the pet not up for sale once you offer or does it go into another system? Keeping track of all of that information would take up a lot of resources for the site. This has happened to me before but luckily, I was able to catch and fix it before anyone bought the pet. Changing around the set-up of the pop-up would be helpful and would be much easier than implementing a confirmation system. For right now, just double check twice to make sure you typed in the correct box.

I like the idea of changing the setup. I am always paranoid I will accidentally put something up for sale instead of breed.
