Firestar was the main character in the first book throughout a few sets of the book I don't understand why they would kill him off .n.
Right as the series ends.. great way to end a amazing series of course kill an amazing character who everyone used to love because they read the first part of the whole thing with him being the main character then end it off randomly, great .n.

On a happier note I don't know but my favorite character became Jayfeather I love him and he is awesome and adorkable :3

Well, if you think about it, Firestar was incredibly old anyways. Perhaps he aged a bit slower than normal because of his extra lives, but he. was. old. Mousefur was a grouchy, old elder for a couple story arcs and she was originally a young warrior in the first arc. If she's a crotchety, old elder than Firestar must be getting up in the years! He would've died sooner or later and I'd rather have him die heroically than just resign from leadership and die in his sleep.

Merp, Leafpool and Ivypool are two of my favorites.

honestly, I like it when an author dares to kill an important character. Not that I'm sadistic. It shows that there's a certain element of reality in it, and it's not just a "happily ever after".

But of course, the reason for the death can't be shallow. Like @Everlost, said, Firestar dying a heroic death saving the clans is better than him just wasting away his old life to old age. Just like how Bluestar's death was so moving compared to like, Tallstar's.

(my favourite's Squirrelflight! ^-^ )
