On mobile, can't do much other than text.
I was PM'ing a friend and she mentioned that the M2 horns on the Ny'vene look awkward, and she couldn't exactly pin the reason why. I haven't exactly been a fan of them either, much as I really do WANT to like them. Triceratops Horns has always been my favorite M2, and even so I have a small gripe on that for the males.
I realized that it all comes down to ONE factor...
The head fins. Those bulky, fanned out head fins. For every set of horns it clashes, with awkward placement of fins between horns, and horns placed too far forward or back when compared to the fins, they ruin everything.
I realize it would take some work, but I think the Ny'vene would be majorly improved by making it so the head fins can be removed with an M2 instead of forcing the other traits to work around it.
(just some examples; these traits would look so much better without the weird - currently bright blue - head fins being all smooshed in with everything. Just snip those little things out and it would actually make sense to the brain!)
Even on Triceratops Horns for the male, you can see the head fin sticking out between the crest and the cheek-horn-thing on the Ny'vene's right side. (visually on the left)
We also discussed the old Ny'vene themes that never got a post-revamp update, like the Solar Eclipse which was my first stats project. The theme was ruined by the revamp sInce G1 and C3 are basically identical, turning the G1s into solid-colored blobs and the color is ALSO on the wings... It's so ugly now. :/
Implementing AC1 and AC2 would also be a major boost for them. Currently the wing traits take the underbelly color, and the body traits take the wing color. This makes it hard to have, for example, a green dragon with red wings, and still add traits for more detail. A body gene (body is green) will take the RED from the wings. And a wing trait (wing is red) will take the underbelly color, and of course the underbelly color is part of the body! No more green body and red wings for you! Add a trait and now it's green AND red all over!
Dragons need some loves. >__>
(PS: we also discussed how Draes would be more organized with a dedicated trait slot for belly scales rather than some G1 being belly scales and others being body, k bye)

I would love for this to happen. Aside from how the fins don't work well with some of the horns, it would also give more space to be even more creative with other horns or even other fins. Also, I had never noticed before one of the fins peeking out from behind the Triceratops mutation for Ny'venes. It'd be nice if that wasn't visible.
I kinda feel that fables (and I'll include puffs in with this) deserve special attention. These are the big rare special pets that some folks spend a good deal on during fests. With that in mind, I also would like to see ny'venes get an update for their older themes as well. Perhaps there could be a thread similar to the past one for nytekries?
