Im on my town in new leaf, and Im trying to catch a spider. Just a regular one, not a tarantula. Im curious, any tips? Ive been shaking trees, but no luck. Though during winter, I do find bagworms. My town is a mess, so I dont know if that has something to do with it, but any tips? I know this is not an animal crossing forum, But I thought it wouldnt hurt to ask. Am I just supposed to start shaking trees again? Or what?....

Not sure if you still need it or not, but this link has a list for every insect in new horizons with what time to catch it at, which season, and how it's found. You might have to time hop a bit to get what you're looking for but it shouldn't be too hard. ^^

All day (Mar-Jun, Sept)

7pm to 8am (July-Aug)

11pm to 4pm (Oct.- CF, NL)

7pm to 8am (NH)

Time of year
April to September (GCN)
March to November (WW)
March to October (CF, NL)
All year (NH)

Thanks but Im not looking for new horizons, Im looking for the game before it, New Leaf. I have a 3ds, not a switch.
