Hi! This is my second roleplay ever, so its bound to be a little awkward, but Ive put some thought (and time) into this so hopefully it will be fun! i know its a lot to read, but please bear with me and feel free to ping me if you have any questions or if you are interested in joining

The plot:

100 years ago, mysterious portals began opening up all around the world, and through them came beasts of myth and folklore. Fantastical creatures that possessed abilities no one had seen before. That was 100 years ago. Now, portals have been contained (for the most part) to the sorting buildings (one per state) where they meet with counselors and helped to select which school they will go to. That brings you to now, filling out you attendance sheet for the most prestigious fantasy school in this world: cedar ridge.

Species:

Werewolf: werewolves are people who turn into wolves involuntarily every night when there is a full moon present. Their special needs are that the need every full moon free of classes and need a pass to the allotted plot of forest for when they change. They do not have familiars.

Lycans: they are people who can voluntarily change into wolves (a skill taught to them by parents or simply learned on their own). Their special need is they require a lot more calories than the average human (which means a pass to eat food in class.) they do not have familiars.

Vampires: are creatures that stop aging at a certain time their special needs are that they cannot be outside in the sun (so they either need night classes or to have classes In the under ground classrooms) and require blood and raw meat to survive (blood is donated by staff and kind volunteers, meet is ether from pigs, lamb or cows. Depends on what day of the week it is). They do not have familiars.

Witches: witches are people with a proficiency for magic, and they can cast spells, make potions and speak proper shaedspeak. Their special need is that they need time off with their familiar. Their familiars can be any animal, and depending on what type of animal it is they will receive some sort of animal bed, cages for birds, or terrariums for reptiles, all of which will have their own special needs that the witch will need to speak to their councilor about.

Shaeds: shaeds are people with the ability to become shadow or smoke, they are born with the ability to speak shaedspeak, a language most other species cant learn because of the harsh growling and roaring its comprised of. However, other species are able to learn a altered version of it (improper shaedspeak). shaeds special needs are that they require at least one hour in complete darkness (their dorms do not have lights in them, so they dont need much extra time in the shade) and they only eat meat. Do no let them turn to smoke if there are any fans in the room. They will be sucked up.

Angel: contrary to popular belief, angels have no affiliation to any higher power. They are people with large birdlike wings, typically long hair, though short is an option, and are very friendly. Their special needs are that they briefly go through a month of shedding near the end of the year where they shed lots of their feathers and need time to clean their dorms and pluck loose feathers. They also require half an hour of flight per day and most classes for them are held in the courtyard or in their section of forest so they can be comfortable. Their dorms are usually at the top of the dorm building and have windows that can open easily.

selkie: selkies are humans that can shapeshift into seal. their special needs are that they require time in the schools pools or lakes to swim at least 30 minutes each day. they do not have familiars.

naga: naga are people with the lower body of a snake. they are cold blooded, and require heated pads to sleep on, cold spots in their rooms, and time off to shed their skin when necessary. they are not allowed to have mice or rats in their dorm. they do not have familiars.

This story is designed to be run mainly by the people (though, fear not, i will still be a part of the story, taking the roles of the councilors and one of the many students), where I set up the beginning of a story the players will play out the story as they see fit, that is why I will wait until I have more than one player waiting to begin before I begin. When I start the story I will ping all waiting players and send them a link to the new thread in the roleplay forum

Is this a group roleplay? Sadly at the moment I don't do group rolepays as I can't always be online and if they die out I can't revive them.

it is a group roleplay, but if you do need to be offline for long periods of time it is conveniently a school so you could make up excuses like needing to take exams or something else school related (which is actually part of why i chose the setting, actually ^^)

i hate to be nitpicky but i'm going to have to ask you to change what species you are, if we get into hybrids im afraid this is going to turn into some sort of competition on who can be the most special character and there will be OP characters and that's not what i want for this. again, really sorry about this
