So I was sending a PM to my friend giving her advice on Sylestia, because she's new. I decided to preview the message, but then all the buttons and text vanished and I can't close out of it. There's no way to save the PM as far as I'm aware, and it was a long one. Am I going to have to re-type the entire thing or is there some way to force-close the preview tab?

Yea... there's a few ways for the Preview to break. It's a really old page of code long overdue for being updated.

It seems to break when using various special characters in your message. If you still have the tab open, you can probably use your browser's debugging tools to force hide the pop up windows to re-access your text to copy what you wrote.

Would you mind explaining how to do that? I used the inspect tool but couldn't find anything, and I really don't want to have to re-type it (I did keep the tab open)

So right-click on the area you're wanting to hide and then select "Inspect Element".

It'll bring up the debugging tools and it should have the pop up that you inspected already highlighted. Then right-click on that and select "Hide Element".

If you hide the blank white pop up window and then hide the gray page-wide background, you should be able to access your text.

You're welcome. =)

Someday, we'll get a new messaging system that won't be so outdated and buggy.
