Ok I'm new and this is my 3rd day playing this game and I noticed that one of my pets has a hunger bar. It kind of worries me, so what happens if the hunger bar hits zero?

They become 'malnourished'- which in effect just means they fall unconscious and cannot be put in the party or used for breeding until fed. That's it.
Not being fed will not harm them in any way or kill them or anything.
Once fed, it might take them a little bit to revive, but then they'll slowly start to regain HP over time (basically, the same thing that happens with any pet that isn't actively in battle)

Pets that are in the party do not need to be fed.


If you go to your stables, there's a 'feed pets' button at the top. Alternately, if you go to a pet's page there's a 'feed pet' button so you can feed individual pets (all players can access this button, for the purpose that that way if a person wants to breed with a pet that is up for public breeding but is malnourished they can feed it themself so they can)


(Once you hit 10k AP you automatically permanently unlock the Stablehand option (no point using this until you have a good number of pets- with a very small number of pets it's probably cheaper to just feed them yourself). You can click the 'hire a stablehand' text to hire Rosemary to feed your pets (2 weeks of 'contract' with her costs 1400g to make and when she feeds your pets it costs less to feed them, which I believe? scales based on # of pets you have, with more pets = lower overall cost))
