Short Story Comp!
The Ny'vene messenger appeared at midday. The Zolnixis let him enter their cave. It was pouring rain outside.
"Come with me," he said, growling softly. "With you're combined traits we could win the war against the Myconids.
"We are not in danger, are we?" Aradia paced the cave, her tail raised dangerously. "We don't want to help. It's raining outside, and we can't stand rain," She glanced at her partner.
Alatar stalked up to the messenger. We don't want to fight your war."
The Zolnixis and the Ny'vene glared at each other for a long moment, and then the messenger spun around and left, flying furiously and reluctantly toward the sounds of screaming warriors.
However, the Zolnixis had not refused to help because they were selfish.
A loud CRACK sounded in the back of the cave, and Aradia and Alatar rushed toward the sound, as their eggling became a hatchling.
