So... I have these two animal characters in the works. They are basically goat-dog monsters (original species. They are called Daecapri and they aren't finished yet.) and I'm having a bit of trouble with the color palettes for them. Here is some info:

Character A:
-Female
-Sun/light inspired
-First of her species and her species alpha/monarch/queen
-Happy and excited with a troubled side
-Killed a weirdo creature (that is also unfinished) called an Abyss and she carries around this orb/gem that holds the Abyss's soul
-The orb/gem/soul thing is slowly driving her mad (it is kinda haunting her(both the soul and the idea of taking life)) and Character B is the only one who keeps her sane

Character B:
-Male
-Moon/night inspired
-Second of his species (is the same species as Character A) and is also alpha/monarch/king
-Calm and collected
-Quietly in love with Character A

They don't have names <.<"
If you are also good with names maybe suggest a few? They should be relatively simple and reflect their colors.

And as a detail to the species, Daecapri relationships are purely romantic, never getting to the point of being sexual. I just don't want people to make my species (which will most likely become an open species) into something dirty or impure.

For the female, Sola (Spanish for sun {Sol} but girlish)

For the male, Novo (Nova but it sounds more like a boy's name)

Ah! Character design (well, coloring, but oh well).
I'll go with Moonia's name as well, since they're really cool!

And to make both characters unique, I'll be using specific breeds of dogs and goats

Sola
----- So, for Sola. You say she's sun based, she's a monarch/queen, and is happy and really excited.
Just from the suggested name, I also get the feeling that she's very elegant as well, and is very beautiful.
----- I would suggest a Finnish Landrace, and an Afghan Hound for the breeds. I'll start with the overall build.
----- I feel like she would stick closer to the dog side, with hits of goat sprinkled in. So, she'd still have the sleek build of an Afghan Hound and the long silky hair, but there would be slight changes. Instead of the long, silky ears, you'd have the pointed, upright ears of a goat that border two long, sleek horns. Staying true to the Finnish Landrace breed, the smooth fur she has would be especially thicker and longer on her hind legs and hind quarters, making it appear that the lower half of her body is draped in a curtain. It would be shorter on the upper half of her body, making her longer fur look even longer.
----- Instead of the long, skinny rat tail that they have, it would be slightly shorter with the actually, while the long fur covering makes it look longer. She'd also probably have a little beard. She'd probably have hoofed feet, making a telltale click clack sound wherever she went. With them, they're are most likely covered by fur, so no one actually sees them.
----- Now for colors. I can see her being white, with heavy hints of blond mixed into her coat. It would be more noticeable on her ears, paws, and tail, but the blond coloring comes out heavily whenever she's in natural sunlight. Her horns would be more of a golden-brown instead of black or white, and may sometimes give off the illusion that they are real gold. For her eyes, I feel like she'd have either a rich brown, or hazel-green color.



Novo
----- Novo, a night based, calm and collective. From the feel I get from him, I feel like he would be really protective of Sola.
----- My suggested breeds for him would be a Tibetan Mastiff and a Bilberry goat. Even though the dog breed is know to be a... little aggressive sometimes, I feel like he would be a big gentle giant, only being like that if someone seriously hurts Sola.
----- For him, I think the goat parts would be more noticeable. Even with the huge, musculature build of a Tibetan (which is honestly probably mostly just fluff on him), somewhere around the middle of the upper part of his legs would give out to goat legs, with hooves at the end. Same with Sola, he'd probably have goat ears. His horns would be long, twisting and curling outwards. Instead of pointed at the ends, he probably dulled them down himself.
----- The thickest part of his coat it around his chest, which is prominent in both breeds. I feel like it would give him the appearance of a mane. He'd might have a small bit of longer fur under his chin, making him look like he has a beard. He still has the long fluffy tail of a Tibetan, but it hangs like a Bilberry goat instead of curling over the back.
----- Instead of saying all black for him, I'm going have a little fun with his design. Of course, he's mostly ''black'' (actually a very, very dark brown), but his legs, underbelly, and muzzle are all a mud stained white. His back and sides are speckled with light brown, making him appear dappled or sprinkled. For him, I would say blue eyes if you want a striking contrast, or brown eyes if you want it to keep with the color pallet.

Please, just remember that these are suggestions! You don't have to use them if you don't want them. I knew I kinda went over the top with them.
