I think it'd be fun to have the two main species' gods discussing how all of this is gonna go down. You can control one of the phoenix gods- there's two and their characters aren't that difficult.

Basically, there's two phoenix sisters. There's Vai, who controls the negative aspects of things, and Ru, who controls the positive. Vai is very laid-back and pretty nonchalant, and is quite up to date with things happening in current day. Ru is the opposite; she's uptight, refuses to be ignored by anybody, and is always at least a century behind her sister. Vai looks like a shadowbird but is much bigger and thorny rose branches grow on her body (roses aren't very common but sometimes one will grow on her), while Ru looks more like a lightbird and lotuses grow on her feathers instead.
