When Dashiell leaves, you notice what he means. Everything seems to be made out of wood. The room doesn't look like anyone's been in it for years.
On a desk in the corner, you see some dusty papers. Do you investigate?

I dust off one of the tables in the room with my hand before setting my backpack on it. I then go and pick up the papers and begin to read.

As you set them down, you notice notice that you can see the imprint of writing on the backs of the pages, but you can't read it. It looks like the writing was washed away somehow.
