So I have heard that Google is getting rid of Flash player on its website or the whole program is. How will this affect Sylestia in the future? will the site have to go down for a while or does most of this stuff work without flash player?

Flash was considered obsolete pretty much even by the time Sylestia began development. As such, we have never utilized it in any way. Early on when we had the Comet Chat games enabled, they ran on Flash. But they've been disabled by Comet Chat for along time and I finally was able to figure out how to permanently remove access to the menu via the bar as well.
So there will be 0 impact on Sylestia by Flash being discontinued.
