I'm not sure if you've ever tried adding new traits into a stats project after getting to max, but it is heavily reliant on RNG which is rarely kind. Stats on the offspring will be anywhere between two parents, so if you have, say, this pet, dyed it to your Vampiric Specter colors, then bred it to your maxed specters, the stats results would be anything between these:

health: 1304-2000
mana: 120-200

str: 88-100
int: 89-100
dex: 84-100
agil: 87-100

You'd be left fighting RNG for the health and mana primarily, and it would probably take several attempts or multiple generations to actually get something within 1 prismatic philter of maxed stats.

If instead we did a trade for traits, I would leave the Bahamut offspring as fertile which means you could breed the Imperial traits into your gene pool, with no need to struggle with the stats since maxed + maxed = maxed offspring

For example:
Dyed Bahamut male + Spectral female;
Spectral male + Dyed Bahamut female

Bred together like that, you would have a breedable pair of offspring with the following:

G1: carried fine stripes
G2: visible Spectral Runes; recessive Imperial Dragon's Blessing
G3: carried Imperial Dragon's Blessing
M1: Visible Spectral Armor; recessive Imperial Dragon's Armor
M2: Visible Spectral Helm; recessive Imperial Dragon's Horns
M3: Visible Spectral Wings; recessive Imperial Dragon's Wings

You would still have to invest the dyes, but dyed to match your Vampiric Specters that pair could then land you all sorts of variations of your project design. Just to throw out a few examples...

(Doesn't necessarily have to be dyed to the Vampiric Specter design, for that matter; I just used it as an example. You could easily dye the crossbred pair to a completely unique design that would encompass the Imperial Dragon and Spectral traits :D )

Likewise, I would be able to add the Spectral traits into the genepool for one of my projects without having to fight the RNG over the stats.

With this type of arrangement I'd be fine trading fertile for fertile on these; otherwise I'd feel better trading infertile for infertile. My PC isn't exactly the speediest so when I'm breeding for traits, I'm usually just going down the list and mass-breeding everything to ~3 or 4 males; image codes take too long to load - especially on a list of like... 100+ pets, so I'd probably end up breeding a fertile Vampiric Spectral female without even noticing it .__.;

I'd prefer 1 male 1 female, yes - they look so much better in the stables that way and I really do love the black and red <3

If you'd prefer a different setup for the Bahamuts just let me know :)
