Story 1: Calamity the Infernal
Of Fires and Distance

Calamity was always special. Ever since she was born, she was different from her family. Her parents and younger siblings were all normal Tieflings, but her parents told her that she was an incredible gift, she was born a fire tiefling. She was the only fire tiefling in her village, gifted with the infernal fire of her ancestors.

Unfortunately, due to her special infernal fire, she lacked the horns and tail of the rest of her kind, so she had a crown of fake gold made which had a curled horn of each side, just like her mothers horns.

*Calamity! Come down now, youre supposed to join Sly and Void hunting today!* Akrasia called her eldest daughter downstairs.

*Coming ma!* Calamity yelled downstairs, grabbing a hiking stick and slinging a bow over her shoulder with her quiver. She was never the best with a bow, she preferred using her infernal flames, but she refused to admit she was bad with the bow.

She grabbed her green coat she wore while hunting, it wasnt the best camouflage, but for someone with bright orange skin and fiery hair like her, she needed all the cover she could get, and the somewhat formal coat was all she had.

*Im gonna go out now... Wheres pa and Maudlin?* Calamity asked as she entered the lower part of her home and seeing her father and youngest sister missing. Her little brother, Nepenthe, was sat at the dining table, eating some bread like he hadnt eaten in years, and just shrugged at the question.

*Your father took Mauddie shopping for a new dress for her birthday* Alrasia explained as she took the rest of the bread away from Nepenthe, walking towards Calamity.

*Look at you... youre so big now, I remember when you were just a little baby, now youre practically a grownup!* Akrasia places down the break she was holding so she could cup Calamitys face in her hands and give her a kiss on the forehead. *Im so proud of you*

*Thanks mama, but I gotta go, now stop being embarrassing* she brushed her mother away bashfully. *Youve seen me every day, Ive been a big girl for a long time!* she huffed, but still smiling from her mothers praise. Calamity walked outside after saying goodbye to her family

*Callie! You took forever* Sly said, running a hand through her dark hair. *Me and Void were going to leave without you* Sly nudged Void, who didnt seem to be paying attention.

*Void and I* avoid corrected Sly, earning him a sharp jab in the side as Sky and Calamity rolled their eyes.

*Sorry guys, I slept in and then my mama was being all sappy* She chuckled. *But now that Im here, lets hurry out while we still have daylight* Calamity said enthusiastically. Sly got ready to start walking, but then the two noticed Void was spacing out again.

*Void!* Sly called his name. *Whats up with you today?* she asked the tiefling teen, who snapped back to reality.

*Sorry guys* He apologized, running a flawed hand up his straight horns. *I just have a bad feeling about today* he groaned, joining the two girls as they started their walk into the west forest.
