From what I've seen so far, selling pets is a bit of a hassle at the moment. It all depends on making a forum post and hoping people might maybe eventually take a look. All the while, the pets waiting to be sold are taking up stable space.

Under the Trade tab, it would be nice to have Pet Auctions, or some similarly named area. All pets that are being sold would be right there, easily found by people searching for pets to buy. Being able to look for specific species within this area would be even better, but I digress. It is my thought to use auctions instead of straight-up sales because an auction can have a buyout price, which would basically be a straight-up sale. Auctions would also allow people to see just how desired certain species and/or traits are. This would also allow for newer users to know what they're doing when they decide to try selling any pets they decide they didn't actually want and shouldn't have captured; Yes, releasing works for this as well, but it feels wrong to release when you get a message stuck in your account that you released a pet. Could be just me, but it's almost like the game is shaming you, in a way.

Auctions could also tell you if a pet has been scanned or not, so people interested in a pet would know right away if that pet needs to be scanned or not to see if any genetics are carried.

Actually, most people just list their pets for sale.

If you use the advanced search, you can look for pets that are for sale, and buy them.

I think the forums tend to be for ones who really want their pets to be sold, or they have pets they don't want to price outright and would rather have forums for.

I would definitely not want to see this replace flat sales, because buy outs tend to be way inflated and I hate auctions in general.

However, having a site mechanic to auction pets might be nice.

See, I didn't even know there was a way to search for pets that are being sold. After taking a look, that somewhat obscure feature could use some refinement.

Though some people are guaranteed to set buyout prices much higher than they should, that would not be the point. People who just want to sell the pet as quickly as possible can list the pet with the same price for both the starting bid and the buyout price, which would mean that bidding would sell it right off to the first person who bids.

My main point in this idea is that it becomes easier, and actually obvious, to locate pets being sold. An option to list the pets by price, like how the Trade Broker does, would allow people to get a good grasp on pet pricing as well as allow for quicker purchases and sales.

I wouldn't mind a more obvious place to for pets, but my point is I really hate auctions ,and would hate having the site move more towards auction based selling of pets than flat sales.

Yeah, the way it is done now isn't as obvious as it could be, and the search itself could use some tweaking to make it better overall, but I don't think the way it is done now is bad, and in some ways is better than having a 'shop' or 'auction' house that you could stick pets in like some other sites use.
