~Both~

Daddy? He said quietly,rubbing his sleepy eyes with tiny 5 year old hands.He sat up,looking around in the dark with little scared purple eyes.His father was asleep on the bed besides him with his back to the boy,his side rising and falling in peaceful sleep.Little Marco saw the relaxed shape of his fathers chipped and tired soul,and he reached a gentle little hand out to touch it as to wake his father.Jasper,Marco's father,woke at the touch,knowing only his son would do so to wake him. He sat up,careful not to squish the little shivering boy next to him,and put a strong arm around the boy of 5. "Yes Marky?" He asked,tho knowing what was wrong.It happened every night.Marco cuddled into his fathers strong side and let little tears flow with tiny sobs. "I...I-I w-was...walkin'...a-and I t-thought I s-saw....Mama." He hiccuped as his father stroked his back. "Shhh,really?" He asked,tho this happened almost every night. Little Marco nodded. "A-ahuh...and and...she was w-walkin' away from m-me...papa..I w-want a mam-ma." He said,a verse he repeated every night to Jasper,told him every night and Jasper always said,just as now. "Marco,I can't give you a mom."
The little boy nodded,tho still crying. "I l-love you papa." He said softly,falling asleep on his fathers stomach as Jasper leaned back to sit against the head board. He sighed softly,gently stroking his sons blue hair that was lighter than his own. "Sweet boy...I wish I didn't have to.I really wish Marky...but...I know you can make it...your strong...just like your mom was." He said softly,then gently lifted Marco off of his body and placed the boy back on the bed as he stood,gently putting the 5 year old under the bed sheets before walking out,knowing if Marco woke up he would start crying and looking for him...and he had to go as far as he could as to not let the boy find him.
He walked out from their little room in the back of a hall way that ran straight up to a living room that had a room to the side that was a small kitchen.Jasper ran a hand through his dark blue hair and started speed walking toward the front door,hoping his walking wouldn't wake his son. Marco didn't hear him,curling under the blankets with one thought 'Warm.'Jasper made it to the door and paused,looked back,then walked out tho leaving the door open a crack. He then walked off into the forest,unaware of the fate that awaited him.the last that would befall him..;
~ A few hours later ~;
Marco woke up,still under the covers of the bed.He was super excited,because today was his 6th birthday and he wanted to show his dad just how big he was getting,because he never could usually stay around much.His little light purple eyes burst open and a small little smile spread across his little face as he started trying to get out from under the blanket and bed sheet.Once he was victorious he fell off the bed,but was to happy to feel the pain as he stood and looked around with his light blue hair bouncing happily."Papa~!" He cried,throwing his little arms up and jumping up and down as he searched through the tiny house for the big man.He knew that his father was very strong and big so he knew that he couldn't hide well.Tho he thought his father was playing a game,so he rushed around the house giggling for a few minutes,....until he got tired and sat on the ground thinking. Papa not here...but...where papa go if papa not here?He thought aloud,confused.He knew he wasn't gone already...because work was later and then he would come by the afternoon,scold him a bit for the mess then he would feed him and they'd go to bed.But...his father never left.before...the...sun rise.Or at sunrise to be precise.He suddenly was scared,where had his father gone?!He jumped up and started shaking,not realizing this would not be the last time he would shake of fear,but it would be the first step to losing his sanity.He saw the door cracked open and he was scared as he waddled over and noticed that there where dragged foot prints in the slight dirt that ran past the right path to the town then it went to the end of the cement and lead farther into the deeper part of the forest.He knew he wanted to find his father,but he was scared. "Papa aww awone...Marco must save him!" He said,then he brought up as much courage as a newly 6 year old could,then he started run-waddling after the footprints,following as fast as his widdle legs could waddle him there. After a while of run-waddling,he stopped by a cave,tho he was to scared of it to go in,and he let his body drop onto his rear end with a little oof. He didn't know what to do,he hadn't found his father,and he knew he wouldn't stay away for so long if he could help it.He knew that...his father was a kind man that loved him and wouldn't abandon him.right? He began shaking as he crawled over to the cave and curled up at the side of the entrance.He was hungry,but he didn't know what to eat.He knew you cant eat grass,or leaves or dirt...at least not without getting sick,but he didn't want to get sick.He wanted his father. He hugged his knees close and looked around,scared. Then,something hit him,his father had said once that Marcos mother had died having him...was his father.dead?He suddenly felt hollow,pain stabbing his widdle chest,half sorrow half something he didn't know,but it hurt. Tiny tears started streaking his cheeks,as his little body began shaking. He didn't understand,why would his father leave him,why would he rather go and disappear from him if he loved him? His stomach grumbled as he cried,curling around himself and longed for the soft touch of his fathers strong hand that would always gently stroke his back when he cried for a mom.Now he didn't have a mom or a dad. "PaPa!"He cried out,scaring any birds that where near by with his high pitched little cry of sorrow.His body was shaking and he didn't know what to do as pain started stabbing at his little chest.He fell forward onto his hands and his knees,shaking out of fear and sorrow,and suddenly he felt like something was coming up...something that shouldn't have hurt...but it did. He opened his little mouth as blood started coming out,splashing a bit on small close by rocks and the wall of the cave next to him. His little purple eyes suddenly burst open at the sight of the bright red and caused him to shake all the more.The pain from his chest was ebbing and now he felt something weird,some sort of soft weaving motion that seemed to feel a bit soothing,and he let it sooth him.He crawled back from the new red stain on the ground and pulled his little body farther into the cave and into a dark corner all alone. He curled up and put his arms over his head and pulled his little legs close to him as his stomach grumbled for breakfast. He closed his little purple eyes,not realizing the bright shades of purple light that danced over his eyes as they closed.He nodded off,falling into a soft sleep,soothed by the soft feeling of,what he didn't know to be,magic stitching up to fill in the cracked off part of his soul.
~Mean while~
~Jasper~
Jasper was trudging through the woods,deeper now than he had usually gone before,and he knew why he was there.He also knew what poor little Marco would think...he knew that his son would assume the worst.That he was dead.He felt bad for it,he really did,but he knew that he was doing what he had to,and he'd rather that little Marco assume him dead rather than his employers make sure his son WOULD be dead. He tried to keep from turning back around and rushing back to his boy,to keep from running back and scooping the little boy into his arms to be safe and sound.He shoved his hands into his pockets and sighed,seeing the large building that was built in the forest,far from most people so that it wouldn't be found easily.
The building was at least three stories and was almost as wide as you'd see most hospitals,tho it was also meant to hold people with things going on with their heads,and it was mostly silver despite the fact of its hidden location.It had no windows either. He sighed,knowing he shouldn't have made that bet all that time ago,that Trisha had been right.Oh,how it hurt to think of his wife,and having to see Marco and knowing who his mother was...missing her...it hurt to much,and he tried to put himself to the mind set that staying away from Marco would keep away her memories.Would keep away his sorrow.

~Marco~
Little Marco woke about half an hour later and felt a bit different,his chest having a strange warmth in it that wasn't there before,but it felt nice,comforting.He softly sighed and sat up,rubbing his tiny head as his little eyes looked around in a sleepy daze.For a minute he wondered why he was in a cave and not at home with his father.He then remembered what had happened not long ago and gently hugged his little body tight,shivering once again out of fear,but also being cold in the back of the dark cave. He looked around a bit more and suddenly cried out in shock as he realized wherever he looked a bright purple light followed his gaze. He screamed a bit,jumping at the echo of the loud high pitched sound,and then scuttled to a stand and ran out of the cave in fear.He tripped on a tree root as he rushed out at a surprisingly quick waddle,and he fell forward but he saw a sudden bright flash of purple light,one he usually only saw when his father made designs in the air with purple sparkles for him,and he felt his face gently land on something soft.He opened one little eye,realizing the light was coming from his own eye,and saw that a strange warm purple.poof of a cloud had appeared and softened his fall. He was shaking now,not knowing where it had come from or why his eye,or eyes,where glowing,or so he thought they where.

~He took in a shaky breath,wondering in scared little thoughts...how was this happening? He shut his eyes tight,and the cloud disappeared,letting him drop onto the ground and onto his face. "Ow~" He moaned softly,pulling up onto his hands and knees,but as he opened his eyes and they lit again the cloud fluffed into existence again and caught him,forcing him to be stuck in the middle of the big purple floof. "Ah!" he cried out in shock,the cloud was thick,like cotton candy,and sticky like it to because he couldn't move but thankfully,he could breath. He was scared tho and he was shaking. His arms where out wide,stuck,and his legs sprawled out below him as he rolled on his back and tried to get free. It did him no good.

He huffed in tiny anger and then shut his eyes tight,and the cloud poofed away again. He then kept his eyes closed,still upset,and rolled on his side away from where the cloud had been at first and he opened his eyes and grinned triumphantly as it appeared in the same spot as before.But suddenly his eyes widened and his heart almost stopped as the cloud rushed at him full speed,even with a swishing noise,catching him once more as he screamed in fear and anger."AAAAHHHH!" He tried to flail about but it just shook him,and he started crying,and that only made things worse as the cloud lifted and began shaking him even harder at about 5 feet off the ground as the little boy kicked,and screamed in terror and fright. He sobbed and the cloud grew moist and dropped him,but it began raining wet purple glitter like goo on him.He sat there in the gooey puddle and sobbed,the light of his eyes not going out.
~ After a few minutes of sobbing ~
Marco was covered in the end by dark purple glitter goo and the cloud had gone away once his eyelights had gone out. His little body was curled into a moist,and sticky,ball. "P-papa." He said softly,wishing his father was there to help him understand why this cloud had saved him from hitting the ground,then had shaken him as if it had hated his guts since the beginning of time. He opened his tiny eyes and let out a shivering breath as the cloud didn't come back,and he pulled his slippery body to a sit,tho he plunked sadly onto his back with a splat a few times before succeeding. He wrapped his widdle arms around his torso and realized that he really was all alone...at least without that cloud of hatred that is. He shuttered a bit at the thought of the cloud,deciding to name it Hatey,because it seemed to have hated him with all of its "living" floof.

He looked at his tiny shivering hands,the purple goop on them sparkling with the small sparkles in it,and he started to have deep thoughts.Deeper thoughts than youd think a 5,now 6,year old would have.He thought of how he needed food,he needed a place to stay,and he needed both of these...because...he needed to live.Live.Thats what he needed to do.Thats what he WANTED to do.Live,try to live,to stay alive.He then got to a shaking,slippery,stand and shook himself a bit to dislodge some of the goop. Home.yes...home good place. He said,then looked around,putting his tiny hands on his tummy because he felt his stomach grumble in hunger. Food. He said,saying less and less. He found himself at the point where...words...seemed useless.Thats it,words are useless,so he wouldnt use them.They had to reason in this,what he thought as a,new world that he lived in. No words,no meaningless sounds.
