So I'm writing the novelization (unofficial, unfortunately) for the recent star wars game Jedi: Fallen Order. If you haven't played it or haven't finished or don't want to spoil yourself, go away because I have questions.
(first of all, yes, I'll be putting it on here)
So. During the game (in snippets) we're shown Cal's memories of training and Order 66 before the tomb on Dathomir. While it is important storywise, I'd like to put the order 66 flashback thing in the beginning as an explanation for Cal to give him some character stuff instead of being... a one sided dork. We love him.
(arghhh I can't even think straight its so late why do I do this to myself)
What I have so far:

"In an age before these dark times, there ruled a grand Republic. Its figurehead of justice, the illustrious Jedi Order, stood as a peacekeeping force amidst the political divides of the galaxy. As war broke out between the Republic and the Separatist Alliance, the Jedi and their clone armies found themselves spread too thin across too many worlds. At the center of it all stood Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. His powers grew as the Clone Wars dragged on, and the Jedi Order began to doubt the Chancellors visions for the Republic.
In an effort to expose Palpatines surely malicious intents, several Jedi masters were sent to apprehend him. Ultimately, they failed, and Palpatine framed the Jedi Order for treason. Across the galaxy, the Republics clone armies turned against their Jedi generals, now branded as traitors. Nearly all involved with the Clone Wars were effectively executed, and those who survived either went into hiding or were hunted down and killed.
With the Jedi out of the way, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine revealed himself to be the nefarious Sith Lord Darth Sidious. The Republic had fallen, and a new Empire rose in its place, imposing its iron rule across the galaxy and crushing those who stood in its way.
But the light of hope is not yet extinguished

Stormclouds shroud the dark horizon as rain pours down in sheets upon the torn-up wrecks of thousands of decommissioned starships. The humid air is heavy with the acrid taste of burning alloy, beaten into Braccas surface and atmosphere over decades of metalwork and shipbreaking. A Mid Rim junkyard planet, Bracca served as a strategic outpost during the Clone Wars due to its proximity to hyperspace routes. But as the Empire came into power, it fell out of importance, relegated to an under-the-radar shipbreaking yard.
Now, the members of the Scrapper Guild live only for their next payday, working dawn to dusk for what little the Empire will give them."

I was thinking of putting in Cal's backstory next (after introducing him, ofc). Like basically sticking that entire sub-level in there. Maybe as a reminiscing thing? ptsd? bc surely thats ptsd worthy like damn
idk. I need sleep and/or coffee.
(Also please point out any fallacies and weird sentences because I was not awake while writing this nothing was written before the hour of 10Pm)

Points for plot:
- cordova's logs don't reveal that cal is searching for the holocron - throughout this story, he doesn't know (the empire does tho)
- cal;s psychtometry thnig is USEFUL (and a plot point and dark side wheee)
- second sister gets more stuff
- cal doesn't really think of himself as a jedi because he's like morally gray??
- cere is more important and comes along with cal on tombs and stuff (also she is gray jedi, didn't cut hereself of from force)
- merrin + the whole dathormir thing is... hanfled differently. they end up working together together to beat up old man vengeful
- more trilla
- cere is useful
- greez still isn't (sprry mate)
- tapal's death + the whole order 66 thing is more indepth + emotuon (cal grew up around the clones that then tried to kill him tf??? kid has issues and a lot of anger)
- also now prauf's death haunts him
- lightsaber building on ilum is more impactful
- merrin doesn't come along
