The Valla was created 200 years ago by the ancient wolves. Today these ancient's names are unknown, lost to time and generations. The Valla is a thriving wilderness, beautiful in every season or weather. Wolves roam free and prey are plentiful. But now the wolves have decided to gather. They are forming packs and binding into a strong, loyal force. Some came to be high-rank and tower over their subordinates. Some came for friendship and company. Some came for the sake of protection. Will you be a tyrant subordinate clawing their way up the ranks? Will you be an omega cowering underneath a strong alpha's gaze? The choice is yours.

For now there will only be the Nighthowler pack. Another pack may be added if this is popular or if I am DMed by at least 2 users asking for another pack.
Because we hate 'em but we need 'em 1.First come first serve. Reservations are allowed but only last 48 hrs. Please do not reserve/take a lot of high ranks, please.
2. You may have as many characters as you'd like. However, you must account for all of them during the roleplay.
3. No perfect or OP characters, and no godmodding. This is meant to be a realistic role play.
4. NSFW or anything like that is strictly forvidden! Sylestia rules DO apply here!
5. Hate the character, not the player.
6. If a rank is to be given, taken or replaced, there must be valid cause. If a beta doesn't like the lead guard, he can't magically lower that lead guard's rank to guard. Only alphas can lower or give ranks, with the exception of trainers and lead guards. Alphas, if you are to promote or demote a wolf they must have done something beforehand. However, if you decide a wolf proves a more loyal and better fit for a position please DM the user of the character you are demoting because of this and talk it out with them beforehand, since to give a wolf a higher rank you usually have to give the original higher ranked wolf a lower position.
8.You may NOT create NPCs in rp for the sake of killing or injuring them to make a point. The exception to this is making NPC prey of course, and if you DM me for my permission first.

10. Put rule #7 in Other if you read the rules!.
Alphas-Top Rank. Leader of a pack. They make the main decisions and choose ranks. There may be 1 or 2; one of each gender . They do not have to be mates.If there are 2 alphas of the same gander, they may not become mates but are allowed to find mates within the pack.They report to no one.
Betas- 2nd in command. Completes alphas duties of they are not present. There may be 1 or 2; one of each gender. If 2, the 2 are usually not mates. When an alpha dies, the beta steps in to take their place. If there is one alpha and two betas or if there is still a previous alpha who did not pass, only one beta will replace the deceased. Report to the alphas.
Delta- 3rd in command. Messenger and overseer of the pack. They make sure duties are being done. Sometimes report to Betas when alphas are not present. Mainly report to alphas directly.
Lead Healer- The most skilled healer of the bunch. This wolf is in charge of making sure the herbs are in stock, if there is enough room for the wounded and sick, and making sure all who need treatment get it on day-to-day basis. The lead healer chooses promising standbys and pups nearing ranking if they look like a good fit to be a healer. The lead healer may even test and choose omegas if they'd be a match to the duty of a healer.
Healers- The medics of the pack, specially trained from generation to generation in order to heal injuries and sickness. Healers are well respected and a very important part of the pack, and though their word is not law like an alphas, it is wise to listen to what they have to offer.
Gamma- Elders. Any wolf considered a Gamma is not expected to hunt or fight. They get careful treatment and are well respected. Some wolves may come to them for advice.
Lead Hunters- As the name suggests, these wolves are in charge of organizing and leading hunts. They are responsible for making sure that the pack is fed. Report to alphas, betas or deltas. Typically there is 1, but they can and may choose a hunter to step up and join their position.While a lead hunter has every right to choose a partner without the approval of higher rank, they often seek out advice to ensure they've chosen correctly.
Hunters- The hunters of the pack. They do as the lead hunters direct and are solely responsible for taking down prey. Depending on how their lead hunter organizes and carries out hunting, a hunter may get to choose their own schedules and targets.
Lead Guards- In charge of the guards that protect some hunting parties and the pack itself. They choose how and when guards patrol, who they guard and report to the deltas, betas and alphas. As with lead hunters, there is typically 1, though they may choose a guard to become their partner in rank.
Guards- They are chosen to guard hunting parties or lone hunters, as well as deltas, betas, alphas or the pack camp. In certain times of situations, they are required to guard gammas, denmothers and pups too.
Standbys- This rank is for subadult or older (2+ years) wolves who are not gammas and have not yet been put in rank. They are usually pups that have grown to the right age or lone wolves who have been brought in but not yet ranked. Usually they go into a hunter or guard rank, though occasionally some may be put into omega or high ranks.
Trainers- These wolves are in charge of training pups, or new wolves. They test standbys into their ranks, and routinely test hunters or guards if they show signs of struggle or slacking. They have roughly the command position of betas. Report to Alphas directly.
Omegas- Wolves, usually recent standbys, that are tested unfit for hunting or guarding. Other ranks, if decided by trainers to be unfit for there ranks, may be dropped to omega. This rank is the lowest, below even pups, but mistreatment of Omegas can lead to severe punishment. They usually stay around camp and watch pups or clear out rotten prey and such other chores. An omega can be re-ranked if a trainer, delta, beta or alpha tests them and sees them fit for a ranking.
Denmothers- Pregnant females or females with pups under the age of 2 years. When their pups come of age, they have say over what their pups are tested for. They hold responsibility over the welfare of all pack pups. When a grandmother's pups come of 2 years old, the denmother must either have another litter or be moved to a new rank. If a denmother has had 2 litters or more of pups with at least 1 surviving to the age of ranking, the denmother may keep her rank and help with all new pups until passing or becoming gamma age. If a denmother has to be ranked and refuses to be tested or isn't fit for any other rank, they will be moved to omega.
Pups- Any wolf below 2 years of age. Has no duties, but is expected to take interest in hunting or guarding. They are raised by Omegas and their mothers or other denmothers. Trainers will begin to test them in minor ways beginning at 4 months, and if approved by a trainer or lead hunter/guard a pup may even be allowed to shadow an adult wolf to learn at a young age.
Lone Wolves- Not really a pack rank. Any wolf not in a pack. They are to be treated with caution but not aggression unless they are stealing/hunting on pack territory or pose a threat. New wolves are required to be welcomed as standbys of the deltas, betas or alphas approve of them.

*I stated this in the rules, but I'll make sure to restate it here. Usually the Alpha, Beta and Delta ranks have 1 male and/or 1 female. But if 2 of the same gander reserve or sign up first, that's fine. Please also note that Alphas do not have to be mates, betas usually aren't mates but can be, and same for delta. If any of there ranks have 2 of the same gender, they may not be mates with each other but can by mates with others within the pack. I have nothing against LGBTQ+ but not in a wolf roleplay, please. Thanks!*

Personality: Very trusting of her hunters and some of her packmates. A little skittish at times but usually quite brave. She doesn't respond well to males flirting, and may get snappy when things are off-track. She likes to keep busy and on task, determined to make sure every hunter, including herself, pulls their own weight. Art tries her best to keep the hunters in order, and believes that even though she directs and leads them, and herself is no higher rank and they are equals. Though when I'm drama or struggle, and will remind them of her higher rank to keep them in line of need be. Sadly, as she is not perfect Art does not have the same belief of equal rank with guards, or omegas. But she does try hard to respect every aspect each wolf and each rank brings to the pack, and never goes out of her way to try making anyone feel inferior if she can help it. When on a hunt, she is calm, careful and confident.

Erie is a quite odd wolf, she always speaks in a quiet, wispy tone and rarely gets angry- she seems to take on the role of a pacifist. Erie is wise and honest; she believes that one should try to speak to their foe before they decide to fight. Just because she hasn't chosen the path of violence, it doesn't mean she's weak, she will gladly stand up for herself, and won't cower in the face of danger.

Background:
Erie was once the alpha female of a ragtag group that was living off of scraps and stolen bits of prey- Her mate decided that wasn't good enough for them and they began to grow. Soon enough the small group of loners who formed a family turned into a massive pack with a corrupt leader, they pushed the other packs out and ate up all of their recourses. Erie had left them just a month ago.

Background: her mom and dad were of high ranks, but when she was born she was a disgrace, a hindrance, a failure. So her mom and dad sent her away when she was young, trying to hide her and erase any knowledge that she ever existed. She was found by the Nighthowler pack and by then she was older and given the rank Omega once she found she was hardly any help.
