Part of the reason I usually don't bother with festivals, seriously, no joke, is the inbox spam. -__-
I tend to have a lot of things going on with my inbox, and seeing the endless "Festival Task Completed!" is just... irritating. Sure, I can delete them - I usually do. But I know that if I engage in the fest, it'll spam everything all up all over again in an endless cycle that I've found more and more frustrating with every festival.
Can we just... opt out of being notified? Or have this go to account notifications instead? Literally HALF of my inbox is full of the festival notification spam.

lol i have 15 task msgs rn, i cleared out almost 40 not to long ago
i think it would be nice if the fest task log was like the quest board, or at/sbo task log.. somehow if the fest task thing would light up, we see the task is done and claim from there. issues w/ doing that: a. making task log notify b. not auto-getting the things, esp if you finish a daily near midnight and c. claim button may be hard to put in w/o messing up task log setup

Totally agree, even if you just do a few of the dailies it really adds up, and makes it it easy to miss messages/accidentally delete something you need.
I'd rather just see it become either optional or at least turned off for the daily tasks. Adding it to the overview just moves the issue instead of fixing it (and tbh would be even more of a nuisance since you can't delete those.)

I can concede that making it an account notification would just be moving the spam, but I'll still stand by it for this main reason:
Account notification? Most people look at it, go "oh, __ picked up their trade" or "cool, someone bought a pet" and it's done.
Private Messages? Usually that's the kind of thing that I have to go back through, either from prolonged correspondence (ie, conversations that take days, weeks, some back-and-forth chats that go on for months) or from people that aren't on daily to check their messages, so it'll be like "Wait, ___ messaged me? *flips through pm pages for various days in the past* Ah, that message. *also checks for my response to the first message to get caught up on the pieces of conversation spread over extended amount of time*
If I had to pick a place for the spam, it wouldn't be a busy inbox where I'm constantly having to look back on things. It would be the place for "oh, that happened, cool *goes on about life without having to do anything more or think about it ever again*

It's not pet sales or trades I worry about, it's expired broker transactions. While the trade broker has info on items that sold, account notifs are where I can see what hasn't been selling. Only 200 notifs are stored, so fest notifs would wipe those out well before the fest is even over. It's not vital data, but since I make most of my gold selling items on the broker, it's incredibly useful and would be a shame to lose.
If expired listings were tracked on the broker, I wouldn't have any complaints about cluttering up notifs with fest tasks. To be fair, I also don't like them in my inbox, but at least they can be deleted there.
