I was searching the advanced search for random users (because thats the thing I do when Im bored lol) and I was trying to set the 'last online' to all of the different options, but every time, right after I click search, it switches back to 'within any time.' This only happens when Im searching a keyword.

This was an intended mechanic. It is to prevent confusion when searching by Username.
A typical name search would be if I knew someone's name was "Dragon" something, but I wasn't 100% sure the full name. So I search for Dragon and I'm scrolling through and not finding it - because I'm only searching for recently online and didn't notice to switch it.
So, to save people from that scenario, it just auto switches it to return all results for the name you are searching for.
