Hello there! :)

So, I'm not even close to a new player, but I only recently got into the Sylestia Forums and found the introduction page! Here's a bit about me, and by a bit... I mean here's basically everything you'll ever need to know about me, lol.

To start things off I'm Winterbread, Winter for short, but until very recently my username used to be Animefan1242. I'm a female from New York and I've been playing since 2014. Over the years my love towards Ryori has grown! They're definitely my go-to breed. My favorite color is yellow and the shade white, so when I'm out searching for Sylestia I typically aim for lighter colors (Or the exact opposite, black with a nice contrasting color like blue or red)

I love animals, any and all. I grew up on a farm and have always had nice neighbors with some sort of pet that I've gotten to meet, so I've met my fair share of animals. I currently have a few pets, but the main two that I spend the most time with are my dog, Odin, and my cat, Handsome (Didn't name him this, lol). I'm hoping to get a snake or two around late June/mid July. I'm looking into getting a leucistic ball python and a super black pastel ball python if things go well money wise for me. Growing up I had a boa, a bit different than a ball python but I'm hoping things go well nonetheless. :)

I'm currently a senior in high school and I plan on going to college to be a Vet-Tech (2 years) then after that I'm thinking about looking into a career in Animal Education or Zoology... So, more college. Up until the past couple of months I've always wanted to be a Veterinarian, but things in my life have changed and I've decided that career might not be for me. I've already applied to one college but I plan on applying to more - Better safe than sorry.

I spend most of my time on my PC or my phone, especially on Discord. My user is @WinterBread#2649 and I run a server called Gaming Bots! We typically just talk and play games together, we're a family of around 250+ now. :) Don't be afraid to message me on Discord or ping me in a forum if you want to talk! I'm generally pretty friendly and overall easy-going. I'm always down to talk to people if they need help or just want to talk about dogs/snakes/video games, so please send me a message whenever!

Welcome! Or... nice to meet you I suppose? We do have an unofficial discord run by Fox if youd like to join. A lot of times its easier to talk to people in there than to try and find then on region or gen chat.

As far as college goes, you definitely need to apply to as many as you can. If you dont get into your top pick you wont have any backup. Even if its not one you want to stay at, transferring from one college to another is infinitely easier than trying to get into one off the bat. Lots of schools have transfer programs that almost guarantee you a spot in your school of choice if your grades are good.

Also, going into the sciences is super fun but you should also know what youre getting into. I majored in biology myself with a specialization in zoology and genetics. There are pretty much no decent jobs in the biology field unless you have a masters or know someone. Usually both. Its a difficult field to break into. I highly recommend getting to know both your TAs and professors in school. Especially those in subjects youre interested in. Go to office hours even if you dont need help. Recommendations from professionals in the field will be key once you graduate. Good luck. ^__^
