Avatar items are mostly available through events as rewards for battling, gaining tokens, and completing tasks. You can also buy them from other users through the trade broker by sorting for Avatar Held, Head, Outfit, etc. If you can't find the item you like there, you could check the item sales forum or create your own thread.
