Chapter 1 Outline
The Transition
~Isaiah~

Isaiah could feel it burning in his chest, in his mind. Like an insatiable hunger, filling him to the brim with inescapable hunger. Hunger for blood. He wanted to crush bones between his claws... rip skin with his fangs.
Yet.. he didnt have the fangs or claws to do that. Isaiah was human.. Wasnt I? He thought. The answer came to him again in the form of dull pain as the clouds drifted away from the rounded moon, its eerie light sending pain through his head as if his skull was being cracked open. Isaiah stumbled a few feet and leaned on a store window to keep himself supported.
He could sense that he was trying to fight something, and that something was himself. Isaiah couldnt hold back any longer, because this was a part of him, not the enemy. The pain receded as he gave in to the animal feeling.
Suddenly, he felt his back arch outward at an odd angle, legs re-shaping into something that resembled the hindlegs of an animal. Isaiah saw my own fingers before him lengthen, hooked claws growing from the tips of each one. Long, symmetrical fangs replaced two of his teeth as he ran his tongue over what was once flat, herbivorous teeth. Isaiah realized something felt off, as if he was encased, or restricted, by a barrier that held back what could be. He needed to get whatever it was off, and off right that moment.
So as Isaiah pulled up his clawed hands, he ripped the dastardly material from his face. Isaiah realized at once it was skin, and underneath was not flesh but cream colored, coarse fur. As he peeled the rest of the skin from his face and neck, his nose and mouth protruded outwards, fashioning itself into a wolf-like muzzle. Human-ears moved upwards and grew into points, becoming furred and twitching here and there.
Isaiah was now aware of why he needed to get his human skin off, needed to rid himself of my humanity under the night sky. Ripping the rest of the skin from his body, the bones shifted to allow for a different mammalia structure, and as he dropped from his knees to all-fours he realized he could move the twitching tail that was in fact his own. As Isaiah looked around, for a moment he thought the day had come, since everything around him he could see perfectly as if a light shone on all of it at once. Taking a deep breath, Isaiah could smell the locked-away goods of the bakery two streets down, and when he twitched his new ears he could hear the soft pattering of a little mouse running in the walls of the house to his left. Finally, there was nothing holding him back from this sudden rush of freedom.
It was like a dense fog had drifted away, leaving him to truly sense the world around. No longer was he human, a fragile soul. Isaiah was the hunter now, a beast who has ripped away their disguise. And that fills him with joy. He thought to himself, I am no longer Isaiah, but a simple wolf with a simple dream to be free. And with that, a bright, cream-colored wolf walked away from its reflection in the store window and bounded off, content to find a new prey.

(End of Chapter 1 The Transformation Outline. Please comment suggestions, critique or praise, Im interested to see what you guys think! Chapter two will feature Willow, the 2nd main character of the book. While the plot is pretty much decided for chapter 2, any suggestions on events and personality for Willow would be awesome. I will be working on this in-and-out of school. If we happen to be online at the same time, I can implement critique or suggestions immediately as I get them. Thanks!)

Hunted
~Artemis~
Artemis was walking along the roadside unaware gazing up at the bright, shining moon above. Looking left, then right, she saw nobody appeared to be around. Sighing softly, now she could finally release her wings. Two perfectly symmetrical, white avian wings that are not supposed to be on a human such as herself. Their feathers glittered and glowed in the moonlight, shining almost as brightly as the moon that cast the light. And as she opened her wings, preparing to take flight, she heard a bone-chilling howl off to her right. Springing upwards, Artemis took flight just in time to escape the jaws of a large, cream-colored wolf.
It snapped its jaws upwards, lunging for her over and over. In its violet eyes, she saw conflicted emotions and realized the monster trying to get me was no monster.. but a werewolf. Grinning, she then landed softly on the sidewalk a few inches out of the wolfs reach. Reaching out her hand, she said, Easy now, we dont have to be enemies. Calm down.
For a moment the wolf seemed to not hear, or perhaps not care, but then the snapping and lunging ceased as it did a double-take and looked at Artemis, eyes wondering. She reached her hand farther so it rested on the top of the wolfs nose, and after a moment it settled down and decidedly yawned, allowing itself to be stroked. Artemis pet the coarse fur, noting that it had a soft under-fur as well. Sitting down, she folded her wings against her back, and then the wolf fell into her lap contently.
For as long as she could remember, the supernaturals had to stick out and help each other. So, she alertly watched her surroundings for threat as the wolf napped in her lap, occasionally lifting its head to growl at any small creature or occasional human passerby. As the moon fell, and dawn approached, the wolfs form pulled and shifted into that of a human teen, with soft cream hair and violet eyes that she noticed when he half-opened his eyes were almost the same as the wolf-form except the pupil was circled not slit. He must have decided he was safe because he neither moved away from Artemis nor woke up, closing his eyes and snoring softly as he continued his peaceful sleep.
