So recently I've been browsing the forums and seeing topics on releasing, overbreeding, etc. I have a suggestion! (obviously!)

So I think it was the patriotic event, when players could release pets for increased chances of something? and like tlg, more pets released over 42d = more nesty chance.

ANYWAYS
During fests! More pets released = higher nest chance. Since the fests last forever lol, and there are already some crazy fast releasers, why not reward them!

Hopefully and in theory, this would get rid of a higher percentage of dishwater pets. And perhaps raise the price for pets in general.

I have often felt that sites like this (Flight rising mainly) with mechanics such as this need more incentives to release.

I don't think that the incentives should be tied to fests though, and I think that extra incentives shouldn't be tied to the lost grove.

My idea (or multiple ones really) is either a tiered 'you get X when you release Y' pets.

For example. Lets say that the rewards are a Lesser Pet dye, Greater Pet Dye, Regular Generator Essence and Greater Genetic Mutator.

REgular generated essences would be most commonly given, while the GGMs would be least.

So, when you release 50 pets, every pet you release has a chance to give you a RGE.
every 100 pets, you acquire the chance to get a LPD
Every 250 pets, you acquire the chance to get a GPD.
Every 500 pets, you can obtain a GGM.

This is only a chance to obtain it, with that chance increasing up to 80% with each pet released. Once you obtain one, that chance goes back down to the starting chance and your pet count for that tier goes down to 0. You then need to release pets up to that tier level to be able to obtain that reward.

The chances would work like the pyromaniacs worked, where, supposedly, the longer it had been before you saw one, the more likely you were to see one (I believe it was the pyros that worked like that) until you encountered one. Then your chances were reset to 0.

Now, the pet numbers and prizes were just examples, I think it would be best to have a pool of prizes, so that certain things aren't flooded, for instance ALL regular generator essences would be included in the pool, so that you would randomly obtain one.

I was also thinking that, if it isn't seen as too unbalanced, they could even have chances to get eggs from releasing pets.

These would be either random retired themes or current themes, but only at very high tiers (say 5000 pets released would enter you into the pool to obtain one of these themes, or even more), OR, they could be themes created JUST for this purpose, and only obtainable through this mechanic.

So, you could either buy it from someone who released a ton of pets to obtain it, which could be very expensive, or you could start releasing pets on your own.

While I would love to be able to obtain retired themes outside the BF wheel, I think having exclusive themes would be better.

It would mean that there could be themes on all tiers of releasing, so that even a person who releases slowly (ie they aren't a heavy releaser, but rather release their own failed projects or release a few a day) have a chance to see a special pet. Lower tier themes would naturally be less valuable than higher tier themes. However, I like that better, because I always disliked tiered activities where the all the best things were at the highest level that new players and more casual players could never reach.

This would allow those tiers to have special items, such as fabled, maybe even a pet or two with restricted traits (which I understand that it takes a while to add those traits, but the nice thing about this approach is that hopefully Krin would be able to add pets to it over time. It could be release with exclusive themes and obtain special pets with restricted traits later. As well as refreshing the stock of themes every so often), while still allowing some special pets at lower levels so the types of players I mentioned don't feel completely discouraged and just give up.

Themes that seem to be overpopulating the site could also be 'retired' or cycled out and new themes added.

My second idea is already implemented with nurturing, where every pet you release you obtain a special currency that can be used in an exclusive shop. This shop could have the same types of rewards as the tiered system, but you would always be able to obtain them once you got the right number of points.

Yeah, I think I was thinking something like the scales, but with releasing. Of course, maybe you could release pets for scales, but just revamp the scale shop? idk.

To be honest, I think I would prefer if the scale shop were kept separate, though honestly, it might work better to revamp the scale shop (and while typing that I kept thinking that you got scales for releasing already....)

Something like the nuturing system would be nice. Kind of like how on a rare occasion you get an essence of during fests you can pick up some currency.

I kind of wish they would bring the release boards back :0
