I've been coming across an issue with brewing where I simply do not have the time to keep up and get the bonuses. I can ask for help before bed or before I head off to work, sure, but a lot of the time those who are available to help in the later hours are not around when I am asking, and I only get the help for an hour or two and my brews are left to sit for several hours unattended. That of course, is nobody's fault but Father Time, curse him.
So I've been trying to come up with a solution. How do we, as Sylestians, combat Father Time to properly care for our brews, get those lovely bonuses, and still be able to function as normal human beings?
I believe I may have come up with a possible solution. I have created a spreadsheet, a schedule if you will, that we can collectively use to monitor who needs brew helps at any given time. If you want to help people with their brews, you can look at the schedule and see who needs them at that given time and help them out. If you know you are going to be away at a set time, like for work or sleep, you can put your name into the schedule and have it there for anyone who wants to come help out. I'm hoping this will open up opportunities for more people to be able to get help who need it for long periods of time, as well as provide a place for those wanting to help out to know who to go to and when.
-Feel free to edit as much as you need to. I'm lucky enough to have a set working schedule, but I know some people change week to week and day to day so feel free to edit whenever you need to. I just have it in the weekly format for convenience for those who do know their full week's schedule in advance, but you can edit it 5 mins or 5 days before an unavailability period.
-You can also remove your name at any time etc.
-You don't need to remove your name if you don't have brews, although if this becomes popular I may need to change this rule.
-As of right now, I ask that you add your own name to the chart. As you can see by looking at it, I am not a highly available person, and this makes it much more flexible if you can do it yourselves. If unauthorized editing becomes an issue I may have to change this rule, but that eliminates a lot of the use so just don't do that.
-Put your name under all hours you needing the help, not just the first and last hours.
Please let me know if there are any issues or concerns with the spreadsheet, or even if you think this is a good idea or if you find this helpful! I'd like to know feedback! If this is successful, I may even consider it for future fests so definitely let me know! |
