So, the background for this is I was doing stuff in the Enigmatic Grotto. Anyways, I came across a bug where enemy names won't show up after they die. What happened was that I was effected by Soul Steal by an enemy, killed it, and then the log was ... really weird. It showed the normal damage text, but the enemy's name was completely missing.
What it showed was:
's Soul Steal hits Horizon for 0 damage!
's Soul Steal heals for 0 health!
I'm happy I took no damage, because I have no idea what would have happened if the game tried to heal an enemy that was already dead. (Defense saves lives.)
I'm not really sure how this would be fixed though.

Yep - this has been a bug since like day 1 of the Explore system lol.
With how buffs/debuffs are set up in the old system, there really isn't much that can be done about it. Since it doesn't really have much of an affect on anything, I have just let it be all these years.
Thank you for letting me know though. =)

What exactly would happen if the soul steal tries to heal a dead enemy?

It doesn't.
In that system, once an enemy is defeated it's "removed". Debuffs are done by enemy ID # so since the enemy is removed, it can't find the enemy anymore - hence the blank name and the 0's. It attempts to calculate based off of their attack and stuff but since it doesn't exist, it's 0, and 0 x 0 = 0.
However, the debuff script still runs as normal so it just goes on and does its thing and prints out the result to the log.
